Since the beginning of July, I’ve been really diving deep into exploring Claude’s capabilities. I signed up for a Max x20 subscription, and basically the whole month… have I been vibecoding? messing around? Experimenting? Or just goofing off? I’m not sure which term sounds the least cringey. Long story short, I’m trying more and more to figure out the best way to organize my interactions with AI.

I bought a new toy here on sale. It’s called BUSY. It was made by the same team that created Flipper Zero.
Essentially, it’s a programmable screen with buttons. By default, it comes with its own Pomodoro timer, several customizable screens, and a clock.
BUT it has completely open-source firmware, a documented API, and supports USB, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth. It even syncs with smart home systems (Matter).
That means I can write my own apps for it, display any images, and show any kind of information. All that’s left is to figure out exactly what to display :D
First impressions:
- Great display (actually, there are two - there’s a second small black-and-white display on the back)
- The firmware is a bit rough around the edges. It froze a couple of times while I was setting up Wi-Fi
- The control buttons feel nice, but the mode switch is very strange. It feels like the lever should turn less and be more springy
- So far, the app is only available for phones and macOS. But that’s okay - I’ll make my own!
