44. All objects of attachments are said to be pairs of opposites [happiness and misery, good and bad, profit and loss, victory and defeat, and so on]. When one rises above those pairs of opposites, one realises the Supreme. Such a yogi is a jivanmukta, liberated from bondage. On discarding the body, he becomes a videhamukta.

Ego And Self From A Different Angle
Ego is that something, which has two aspects – the positive and the negative. The creativity in you – are the results of ego. At the same time, when you break down communication, when you isolate yourself, when you’re in tears, when you’re stressed – that is also ego. We do not know about the ego, and so we don’t pay much attention to it. But just 2-3 facts, awareness of how ego works !
The self – the basis of life! You can call it the spirit, the soul, consciousness, the source of the mind – anything. It is that something, which doesn’t change in one’s whole life. After discovering about all these levels, what is left is the Self.
Everything is changing, isn’t it? Do you notice this?
Just look at yourself in the mirror and then look at your picture taken a few months or a few years ago. Isn’t there a big difference?
Your body is changing, your thoughts are changing, the mind is changing, emotions are changing, situations are changing… But still you feel there is something in me which is not changing. So that something which is the basis of all change, that something through which you notice the change is the self – the atma, the spirit. It is the most amazing aspect of our lives. Just a glimpse of it, a dip into your spirit energizes our whole system – and that is what meditation is.
Spirituality is the skill of nurturing, purifying and blossoming one’s all levels of existence.

As narrated by Prof. Anil Kumar Garu in Prashanthinilayam
A person started to walk on a rope tied between two tall towers at several hundred feet above the ground. He is slowly walking balancing a long stick in his hands. He has his son sitting on his shoulders.
Everyone down were watching him in bated breath and were tensed. He slowly reached the second tower. Everyone clapped, whistled and welcomed him. They shook hands and took selfies.
He asked the crowd "do you all think I can walk back on the same rope now from this side to that side?". Crowd shouted "Yes, Yes, you can". Do you trust me he asked. They said yes, yes we are ready to bet on you.
He said okay, can any one of you sit on my shoulder; I will take you to the other side safely.
Everyone became quite. There was stunned silence.
Belief is different. Trust is different. For Trust you need total surrender.
This is what we are lacking towards God in today's world.
The problem today is most of us believe in God but don't trust Him.

There are three kinds of love;
unselfish, mutual, and selfish.
The unselfish love is of the highest kind;
The lover only minds the welfare of the beloved and does not care for his own sufferings.
In mutual love the lover not only wants the happiness of his beloved;
but has an eye towards his own happiness also. It is middling.
The selfish love is the lowest. It only looks towards its own happiness,
no matter whether the beloved suffers weal or woe.

45. A wise man should not give up the body out of aversion to it. Know that when once the prarabdha karma [result of accumulated actions] which was responsible for the creation of the body ceases, the bodily burden will automatically fall off.

Lord Krishna said: “ The man who sees me in everything and everything within me will not be lost to me, nor will I ever be lost to him.”

When we say “surrendering to God,” some may feel we should act either irrational or STOP ACTING ALTOGETHER.
That is not true.
Surrender is the quantum leap from mind to mindlessness, from ego to a state of no ego.
To surrender ourselves to God means to allow God to work through us, or to do things according to our inner voice.
Surrendering to God means to become an instrument of God.

Heat Of Knowledge
For your prayer to be answered, the desire has to be intense. The greater the intensity of desire and the later it gets fulfilled, then greater will be the gratitude.
lntense desire leads you to devotion. For desire to get intense, time and the need for the desire are required. The feeling of gratitude is so overwhelming after the fulfillment of desire that it's achievement loses its charm and significance.
The son of a farmer in India had a life-long desire to go to England and he prayed deeply for it. Even the news of his trip to England materializing filled him with immense gratitude -- he did not even care whether he went or not.
Often people think that they are unfortunate if their desires don't get fulfilled quickly. lntense desire can frustrate you or make you prayerful. In prayerfulness, there is gratitude and devotion. Any intense experience makes you whole.
Your consciousness is like corn. With the heat of Knowledge, consciousness pops ups and becomes white and fluffy.

Desire For Truth
Buddha said that desire is the cause of all misery. If your desire does not get fulfilled, it leads to frustration and causes misery. Even if it does get fulfilled, it leaves you empty.
Vashishhtha said that desire is the cause of pleasure. You get pleasure from an object or a person only when you desire them. When you do not desire an object, you do not get pleasure from it. For example, when a person is hot and thirsty, a sip of cold water gives him pleasure; but not if he is not thirsty. Whatever gives you pleasure binds you and bondage is misery.
Sri Sri says when you desire for truth, all other desires drop off. You always desire for something that is not there. But, truth is always there! Desire for truth removes all other desires and it itself dissolves. And what remains is bliss.

Decide consciously, 'From today onwards, I will live without worry and incompletions'. Life is too short to be spent worrying about your incompletions. Dont bother about the goals, just drop them. The moment you understand the beauty of purposelessness, all the wounds you have created in your inner space will be healed. You will fall into the comfort of Eternal Bliss.
