34. When once the mind becomes steady, it should not be disturbed in any way. There is no need to think even in the least of anything else, entertaining any doubts. Fixing the mind firmly in that state [of Self-awareness], keep it still.

The Indian ancient rishis were so intelligent that they stipulated to express divinity in terms of symbols rather than the words. Words change over the flow of time, but the symbols remain unchanged.
Today, Hindus around the world pray to [गणेशा] Gānèsha for help and guidance. Let us keep the deep symbolism in mind as we experience the omnipresent in the form of the elephant god. Ganesha is formless divinity. गण_Gan means group/the universe is a group of atoms and different energies. The universe would be in the midst of chaos if any supreme consciousness is not present. The lord of all atoms (materialistic world) and energies (spiritual world) is Ganesha.

The elephant represents both Gyan Shakti♢ and Karma Shakti♢ which denotes the principle quality of wisdom and effortlessness which gets the distinct value by the enormous head of Ganesha. Elephants don’t walk around the obstacles or stop at them. They just remove the obstacles and walk ahead. This is the significance of Lord Ganesha. The single tusk of Ganesha symbolizes the one point oriented attitude. The big belly of Ganesha represents the generosity and total acceptance. The upraised hands mean protection.
He carries in his hands, the ‘ankusa’ which is signifying awakening, and the ‘paasa’ which is signifying the control. With awakening, a lot of energy is released, which without proper control is destructive. The very little mouse symbolizes the human ego, which can make a person smaller.

Q: I am afraid of my own mind. It is so unsteady!
M: In the mirror of your mind images appear and disappear. The mirror remains. Learn to distinguish the immovable in the movable, the unchanging in the changing, till you realize that all differences are in appearance only and oneness is a fact. This basic identity – you may call God, or the matrix, the words matters little – is only the realization that all is one.
