Vercel disclosed a security incident yesterday.
attacker compromised a third-party AI tool (Context.ai), used it to take over a Vercel employee's Google account, then accessed internal systems and env vars that weren't marked sensitive.
if you use Vercel, do this now:
- rotate any secret env var that wasn't marked sensitive
- check your activity log for anything weird
- review recent deployments
sensitive marked env vars were protected. everything else, assume it's exposed.
they also published an IOC if you want to check your Google Workspace:

ባይናንስ አፍሪካ በኤክስ ማህበራዊ ገጹ ባወጣው መረጃ፣ ውሳኔው ከሀገሪቱ ተቆጣጣሪ አካላት ጋር በቅርበት ለመስራትና የኢትዮጵያን ግቦች ለመደገፍ ታሳቢ ተደርጎ የተወሰነ መሆኑን ገልጿል።
የተጠቃሚዎች ገንዘብ ግን ደኅንነቱ የተጠበቀ መሆኑንና አካውንታቸውን መጠቀም እንደሚችሉ ተቋሙ አረጋግጧል።

honestly still amazed Binance folded. they're huge, they could've pushed back. instead they walked.
NBE isn't wrong to act. the heavy P2P volume is mostly laundering, that needs cleaning up. freelancers are a smaller piece, and once the legal framework lands they'll get folded in through taxation, fair enough.
the real issue is sequencing. don't shut the off-ramp before the on-ramp exists. open the legal channels first, then enforce.

what's scary isn't that it happened. it's how fast. two major exchanges gone inside two weeks. no warning, no replacement.
don't think they can control the parallel market. but they're making it very hard to trade. the money doesn't disappear, it just goes somewhere.
