p2p.army shows the birr (ETB) p2p prices across all exchanges in one place. not real time but close enough.

https://p2p.army/en/p2p/fiats/ETB

USDT's around 183 to buy, 177 to sell right now.

ETB p2p is dying. the national bank made birr p2p illegal in feb, and since then bybit, okx, binance and telegram all pulled out. mexc announced it's delisting etb from p2p too, gone by june 10. that leaves basically just gate (new) and bingx with live ads.

Claude skills

most of you already know them (claude skills). they're how you stop your AI agent from being generic, each one teaches it to do one thing well, design, planning, memory, writing, so the right specialist shows up instead of one jack-of-all-trades.

works across most agents now, but on claude code especially it's the biggest upgrade you can make. in short, it's documentation optimized for AI agents. install once, forget it's there.

the ones i mostly use below:

frontend + design

frontend-design (anthropic) - makes claude commit to a bold look before coding. bans inter and roboto, kills the generic AI aesthetic
https://github.com/anthropics/claude-code/tree/main/plugins/frontend-design

ui-ux-pro-max - design brain. 50+ styles, 161 color palettes, font pairings, across react/next/vue/flutter/swiftui
https://github.com/nextlevelbuilder/ui-ux-pro-max-skill

taste-skill - stops the AI spitting out boring generic frontends. reads the room first, then sets layout/motion/density
https://github.com/Leonxlnx/taste-skill

design-motion-principles - motion and interaction design based on emil kowalski, jakub krehel, jhey tompkins. build or audit animations for AI-slop motion
https://github.com/kylezantos/design-motion-principles

impeccable - frontend polish and critique. redesign, audit, animate any interface
https://github.com/pbakaus/impeccable

shadcn - add, search, fix and compose shadcn/ui components without leaving claude
https://github.com/shadcn-ui/ui

web-design-guidelines (vercel) - reviews your UI against the web interface guidelines, accessibility and UX
https://github.com/vercel-labs/web-interface-guidelines

workflow + planning

GSD (get shit done) - spec-driven workflow, breaks work into small verified steps so claude doesn't lose the plot
https://github.com/glittercowboy/get-shit-done

superpowers - a full dev methodology as skills. TDD, debugging, planning. real code not toy code
https://github.com/obra/superpowers

memory + skills

claude-mem - memory across sessions. remembers what you did last time instead of starting cold
https://github.com/thedotmack/claude-mem

skill-creator (anthropic) - the skill for building your own skills
https://github.com/anthropics/skills

find-skills - finds and installs the right skill when you didn't know one existed
https://github.com/vercel-labs/agent-skills

writing

anti-ai - humanizer. rewrites text so it doesn't read like ChatGPT, runs a full AI-detection sweep
https://github.com/daniel-bogale/anti-ai-writing-humanizer

backend + data

supabase-postgres-best-practices - postgres query and schema optimization straight from supabase
https://github.com/supabase/agent-skills

that's the ones i lean on. drop your most useful skills.

afterquery and revelo may not be over yet - ai trainer jobs still open

we missed the big afterquery money (some made up to 4mil a month), but some projects still run.

there's still labs hiring ai trainers. most don't take ethiopians, but keep looking, you'll find one.

revelo too - they banned ethiopian accounts, then recently unbanned some of us with real work history.

better to apply and wait at afterquery, micro1, revelo, and bespokelabs. some take a while to reply, so apply early and sit in the pool.

on micro1 and afterquery, other fields have better odds. they pay for referrals, so invite non-dev friends from other fields too.

links (some are my referral):

Introducing Volkscity πŸš€

A discussion platform where each community is run by a Chief, and the city as a whole is run by a democratically elected Mayor.

How it works:
β€’ Join a community around a subject you care about
β€’ Browse threads, each one focused on a single question or idea
β€’ Write a piece, vote on others, and crown the best one
β€’ Chat with members, chiefs, and the mayor to shape how the city grows

In Volkscity, less is more.
No endless feeds. No off-topic noise. Just clean, focused discussions with real structure behind them.

The idea is simple: build a library of things, one piece at a time.

Try it out at volkscity.com
It's a new kind of social media built for people who'd rather collect and discuss ideas than scroll forever.

If y’all are wondering how your company can use the Fayda API. Ezpz, register here: https://partner.fayda.et/

Docs here:
https://id.et/api

No fuss, just have the legally mandated documents, you’re good to go. The legal process is also improved (I know someone was having a hard time with that).

(I’m not with Fayda anymore, but I do admire the team, they’re continually doing a great job. Always improving.)

⚠️ I just found out the tuition for this cohort isn't covered, 3.5k. The earlier 10 Academy programs were funded by Kifya, so I assumed this one was the same.

10 Academy - AI-Enabled Full-Stack Developer training

12 weeks, fully online, US Eastern time. you build and ship real apps the whole way - React/Next.js, an API backend, postgres, and real AI work (LLM APIs, RAG, tool calling) with Claude Code, Cursor and Copilot. you walk out with 10+ portfolio projects, ready for junior to associate roles.

live tutors and daily standups, not recorded videos. aimed at North America but anyone who fits the schedule can apply. no pro coding experience needed, some python/js/sql helps. it's a 501(c)(3) nonprofit backed by GitLab Foundation and Schmidt Futures.

the honest bits:
- $3,500, payment plan available
- full-time, 40-50 hrs/week. not an evening thing
- waitlist now, apps open june 26, starts sept 8
- small cohort (~20), admission is competitive

i highly recommend it. if it fits, get on the waitlist:

Introducing Telegram Search Engine πŸŽ‰

TSE is a telegram crawler you can build other projects on top of.

Out of the box it comes with:

βœ… Channel discovery β€” keyword "phone" and it will search using that or give it a seed channel -> link-graph crawling (follows mentions, forwards) that snowballs seeds into thousands of channels

βœ… AI analysis β€” a local LLM classifies every channel, writes a summary, no API keys.

βœ… Real search β€” typo-tolerant, relevance-ranked search (Meilisearch)

βœ… Quality scoring β€” channels ranked by activity, content quality, network influence (PageRank) & freshness

βœ… Community graph β€” an interactive, Obsidian-style map of how channels reference each other.

🐳 Self-hosted & open source β€” one docker (Postgres + search + API + UI).

The live demo explores a frozen snapshot of tech-community channels as a proof of concept.

free AI models you can actually use in your workflows (generous free tiers)

a bunch of you asked how to actually get more out of AI without paying for everything.

every genuinely-free model and API in one place, ranked by community votes. each row: how to use it, how it performs, the free limits, and the catch. no paywalls, no shared keys, no trial traps.

no login to browse or vote, just one vote per model per device.

sort and filter to pull up the free coding tools and see what's actually usable.

> spot one that's missing? add it.

weavy.ai: every AI model on one node-based canvas

been using this for logo work and photo edits and it fixed the thing that annoys me about every AI image tool: iterating in a chat thread. version 4 overwrites version 2, and if the model went the wrong direction 3 steps ago, good luck.

weavy works like a tree. every output is a node you can branch from. don't like where this path went? go back two nodes and pivot, send that same output to a different model.

and that's the real win, you pick the model per job:
- logos: Recraft
- extending an image past its borders: the outpaint node with Flux Fill
- upscaling: Topaz (yes, on the free plan)

it does video too (Kling, Veo, Sora, Runway).

figma just acquired it, so it's not disappearing anytime soon. i do maybe 17 images a month and the free plan covers me fine.

Update: 150 monthly credits = 375 images for free

Much respect to @bekacru_c and @kinfishfarms

One of my recent employers told me he'd worked with Bereket and Kinfish before. They put Ethiopian devs on the map, and that's the reason he came looking to hire more of us.

They opened the door for me and a lot of others, directly and indirectly.

Happy for you guys. You earned every bit of this. Thank you.
