Starting a new learning routine

The past 3 weeks I haven’t been learning much, I had a couple projects going on and work got heavy.

But now things are finally lining up. I’m getting tasks done way faster: before it could take me like 8–12 hours, now with better tools + understanding the work environment, I can finish my daily tasks in about 3–5 hours.

So for the next month, I’m going back to learning daily, waking up at 5 AM and studying until 8 AM. Let’s see how far I can push it.

Day 1 Bun!

Today I started learning Bun properly. I’ve used it before in a project, but now I’m going through the docs in detail. I learned the runtime basics, how it works, what engine it uses, and I also found a cool flag, --smol, which can reduce memory usage at a cost to perf.

Massive update for Chillaton 2, guys.

I have collab-ed with @miheretabtrysstuff to make the submission of projects as well as judging and liking of projects easier through https://stark.wip.et/. Essentially we now have a hub where the contest is held at and all that is required to "register" is to just submit your project and github repo. Check it out here: CHILLATON 2

Massive thanks to Miheretab for showing my around the app. We basically hyper tested the heck out of the contest feature😂 A great guy honestly, go sub to his channel gang🫡

Share this around so all participants know where to submit their stuff🙏🏾😁

If you wanna get the most out of AIs use models in the CLI mode not in the web

Day 3 | the architecture of OpenClaw(ClowdBot)

OpenClaw feels impressive because it looks proactive(it reasons), but its architecture is actually straightforward

It runs on an event-driven loop where different kinds of inputs trigger agent actions. Those inputs can come from your messages, scheduled timers like heartbeats and cron jobs, internal hooks, and external webhooks from apps like Slack or GitHub. A gateway receives and routes everything to the right agent, a queue keeps execution orderly, and persistent memory helps the agent continue context across sessions.

So OpenClaw(clowdbot) is really a clean system design that combines events, routing, tools, and state to create behavior that feels alive.

If this helps, here are the models I use and what I use them for

1. ChatGPT (5.2 Pro): Really good at breaking down concepts, explaining things clearly, and helping me learn new topics.

2. Gemini (3 series): Great for generating images and design ideas.

3. Opus (4.6): Strong at coding and handling complex, time-consuming tasks, really good at making things “just work.”

4. Codex 5.3 (my favorite): Excellent for debugging, code review and dealing with complex project configuration. really good model for complex coding tasks right now

Right now, I mostly use OpenAI models, and they’ve been great, especially Codex.

I really wanna build a long-term project, like something I can work on for 1–2 years. I’m not sure what I want to build yet, but I want it to be a useful, complete product.

Day 4 | Bun

Today I learned about bun bundling process, module resolution, bun configuration files(bunfig.toml) and about debugging in bun.

One of the nicest DX wins in Bun is how well it handles both CommonJS and ESM. Module resolution is super smooth, and importing CJS from ESM generally, just works.

So guys, like I mentioned earlier here

This pro thing is honestly really good and works 100%. You can get it from @Brooktd. He currently has a bunch of services like Netflix, ChatGPT Pro and Plus, Amazon Prime, Spotify Premium, HBO Max, and a lot of other premium stuff too.

The nice part is you only pay in birr and it’s less than 1k and even for some of the services it is 300 birr, which is kinda crazy for what you get. So if you’re interested, just hit him up directly.

Also, with ChatGPT Pro you can access Codex, which is one of the most advanced coding agents available right now.

Day 5 | Bun & Plugins

Today I learned how to make an app plugin-friendly so other features can be added later without touching the core code.

The main idea is to build around clear extension points, like, Event-driven architecture and Webhooks(integrations outside your system.)

Bun plugin example: Bun’s bundler supports plugins using onResolve and onLoad, so you can add support for extra file types (like .yaml or .scss) or customize how imports are handled.
