One of the best decisions I made late last year was quitting TikTok.
I was in the taxi there was this guy beside me, watching TikTok, and I realized that the amount of short form random content you consume is insane🤯.
You’d understand this, if you saw it from someone else’s perspective, like I did.

RPCs in SQL
They are similar to tRPC, but for SQL. You can use them to run processes through standard validations, execute transactions, eliminate race conditions, and ensure secure processing. They can also return convenient results, such as JSON structures, and they are one of the best safeguards for executing ACID-compliant operations.

This is very sad. He made great movies. He was part of the golden era of Ethiopian romantic comedy movies. I could enjoy watching these movies at practically any moment in my life.

Most people think University is where you do soul searching, and where your identity is defined and all that... It's on the contrary, you're in an established system - even if you're the chaotic typa student there are so many others like you that it's easy to just follow that path.
It's after you graduate that you're properly independent and where true soul searching and identity formation happens.

It looks like finally risking my exams and dedicating my time to learning new things has paid off somehow.
I’m so grateful right now. The position, the salary, and the work culture all fit me perfectly, especially since the tasks are challenging and not repetitive.
I’ll get back to you on how I spent the last week in an intensive training and testing session fammm😊.

get back to you on how I spent the last week
The tasks were pure programming, like building a Python error-handling and validation library.
The hardest part for me was writing tests, honestly, most of us don’t write tests, even in medium full-stack apps 😁. But everything had to be automatically tested and dockerized since it will run in a sandbox environment, following strict folder, file, and markdown structures.
Overall, I finished 7 tasks during this period, wrote code in python, java, C++, and TS(ma favorite😁), and learned a ton along the way.

I remember about two years ago, someone, I can’t recall his name, who was a full-stack developer spoke on the @yonas_moh podcast. He said people don’t really need to be full-stack, knowing just backend or frontend is often enough you can work on that and he also said it will take a lot of time to learn both. He also talked about how difficult his journey was. At that time, I was just thinking about starting to code and hadn’t written a single line yet. Now, in less than two years, niche jobs are hard to find and learning has become much easier because of AI. AI has changed a lot😮.
I wonder what will change in the next two years🤔.
