Hi,

I am writing to you regarding a family in Mitchelstown that have been homeless for almost 2 weeks at this stage.

Stacey Breen and her husband and 4 children were given notice to leave their privately rented home on Wednesday 3rd of August. They were unable to secure a house for rent in the Mitchelstown area due to lack of housing availability.

Since then they have managed to find room at a family members home for their 4 children but both parents have to sleep in their car at night as there is no room for them.

I find this to be deeply disturbing that this is happening in a small town like Mitchelstown.
I'm aware that their are currently council houses available in Mitchelstown at the moment and I am demanding that one be made available for the Breens. The current government has no problem committing to finding housing for 'unlimited' migrants and refugees seemingly at the expense of our own people considering the current state of the housing market.

May I remind you that elections will come round again and this neglect of our people will not be forgotten.
