Calling all Cats!

Tomorrow, Sunday the 12th of February 2:30pm, people will be taking to the streets of Kilkenny, meeting at the council offices in lower John Street. We are going to have locals from settled and travelling communities, farmers and townsfolk, foreign nationals and employees and owners of businesses of the local hospitality sector who will be affected by the loss of tourism, increased risk of sexual assaults and harassment and violence that comes with large groups of single men cooped up in hotels for months. The housing section of KIlkenny Council offices has closed its doors on the Irish. We have a simple message. KILKENNY SAYS NO! End of story. This nonsense from the government has run its course and the people of Ireland are staging an intervention. Kilkenny will pull its weight in this endeavour. This will be a peaceful gathering with a few short words and then a procession from the council offices, over Johns bridge to the town hall to make our opposition to this plantation known.
