I looked up an entomological history of the word, “faith,” this morning. Here is what I found, in part:

Many of us apply the term nearly exclusively to our religious beliefs, and that is ok, but the word has other applications.

I have faith in God. I have faith in the atonement of Jesus Christ. I also have faith that we are God’s children and that he has made promises and covenants with us that cannot be broken, lest God’s nature be not what we believe it to be.

I believe God inspires specific people to do the work that must be done to bring his promises to fruition.

I believe the Q op is one of God’s plans, grounded in faith, truth and righteousness.

I further believe that no matter what we do or see, what the creeps perpetrate or how we react, God wins.

This is the air that keeps me aloft at 40,000 feet.

We are natural worrier warriors. We want to check in every minute to see how things are going, just in case they are not going the way we think they need to go.

With faith this exercise is a hobby at best. It’s all going to go the way it needs to go. End of story.

At this moment in time, the spinning rock we call home is rapidly moving toward a giant corrective action, and we are just along for the ride. The snowball, as it were, is hurling down the hill and no one can stop it. Believing that, really knowing it, is faith.

We are now here, together to support each other during hard times, to reassure, and kick around funny stuff that lightens our hearts as the symphony builds to crescendo.

Have faith.
