Australian Police have warned of a sophisticated phishing scam after victims lost more than $1.47 million in early July. Fraudsters are mailing personalised letters containing QR codes that direct victims to fake cryptocurrency websites.
Once scanned, the sites trick victims into revealing their wallet recovery phrases or approving malicious transactions, allowing attackers to drain their crypto wallets.

Europol has flagged more than 4,300 websites and online pages linked to The Com for removal as part of a coordinated operation involving law enforcement from nine countries.
Authorities say the operation targeted online infrastructure used to spread violent extremist content, recruit members and facilitate cybercrime. The crackdown builds on Project Compass, which has already led to 30 arrests and identified 179 suspects.
