We investigated the claim that the U.S. sunk an Iranian warship and traced it to a March 18, 2025, Eurasian Times article, which cited a report from the Saudi-owned outlet Al-Hadath. The Eurasian Times piece, now deleted, referenced Al-Hadath’s claim that the U.S. targeted Iran’s Zagros reconnaissance ship in the Red Sea. However, we couldn’t locate the original Al-Hadath report—either online or in their archives—despite extensive searching. Given the deletion of the Eurasian Times article and the absence of a verifiable Al-Hadath source, we conclude that the original report may have been inaccurate, retracted due to lack of evidence, or removed for other unspecified reasons.
