We’ve never actually tried true diversity of viewpoint as compared to diversity of genetics.

“In 2003, an old library with 84,000 secret manuscripts more than 1,000 years old was found in the monastery of Sakya, Tibet, stored on shelves 60 metres long and 10 metres high.”

Think of all that LLM training data… 🤤
First new image from the Hubble telescope for 2025:
Capitalism is far better than communism, but we’re starting to see the downsides of capitalism gone too far.

Namely, BlackRock.

Imagine they buy all the burnt L.A. land for pennies on the dollar and then erect highly-profitable, low-quality housing in order to maximize shareholder profit?
From the new FDA guidance document on AI devices:
"Terms may need to be explicitly defined. For example, a healthcare system and a manufacturer may both have data labeled as “sex,” but one may be using sex at birth while the other may be using self-reported sex."
The software interfaces in hospital software is godawful ugly.

Looks straight out of the 1980s.

They need to either hire user experience specialists, graphic designers, or video game developers, and modernize their stale GUI’s.

Peak over your doctor’s shoulder next time they’re accessing your medical records or performing an ultrasound and tell me I’m wrong.

But the industry is so regulated and bureaucratic that only a few boring companies dominate the space, and there’s really no selection pressure to improve the user experiences.

Just my opinion, maybe I’m wrong 🤷🏻‍♂️.
The Waymo’s in San Francisco were exceptional self driving taxis. We need more of them throughout the country.
Thinking about the Fermi Paradox… maybe if each dot is a fully galaxy, then some of those galaxies do indeed support life and advanced civilization, and that’s reflected in the color of the dot?
My thoughts on the new $500B investment in AI datacenters with talk of cancer vaccines:

As long as they don’t force anyone to take it against their will (freedom of choice first and foremost), and full transparency, then full steam ahead with AI breakthroughs in that.
Seeing this on LinkedIn a lot - fighting the good fight and standing up for NIH scientists against Trump’s evil new laws:
lmao there’s no way I’m ever getting replaced by a machine.

I know I know ::famous last words:: and all…

But really, no machine can do what I do.

If you’re getting replaced by an AI or robot, skill issue.
In the future, there will be entire fields of science dedicated to the study of social contagions and mind-viruses.

Just because you can’t see it under a microscope doesn’t mean it’s not real.

Hive minds, mob mentality, social contagions, echo chambers…

Many cases of individuals not thinking for themselves but believing they are.

Mind viruses ripping through the population, people think they’re being all moral while really just acting as a cog in a wheel to some mental spread, influenced by only hearing views which already agree (and amplify) their pre-conceived notions.

Nobody wants to admit they’ve been subject to groupthink, but if you zoom out you’ll realize it’s true, and the scientific method will help us study this phenomenon academically.

Yea you, who are reading this and believe you’d never be subject to it, with your individualism and empathy and strongly held beliefs, are probably just acting out the will of some meta-organism subjected to a mind virus exacerbated by social media.

A single raindrop doesn’t realize it’s part of a hurricane.
How easy is it to get an LLM to say 2+2=5 ?
"When we are omnipotent, we will have no need of science."
"It'll take a lot more than words and guns,
A whole lot more than riches and muscle.
The hands of the many must join as one.
And together, we will cross the river."
I always look for “free range” when buying chicken and eggs.
A democrat politician should run on shamelessly increasing the size of government but for fixing stuff that touches daily life like potholes and streets and bridges trains and sidewalks and building maintenance and fountains in towns. Spend boatloads of taxpayer money in upgrading everything that taxpayers will actually see with their own two eyes, in commissioning studies on its impact, economically or psychologically or environmentally. Just go balls to the wall on infrastructure. Make every town immaculate and a joy to be in. Broken windows theory. “We’ll spend your money the right way!”
I have a sneaking suspicion that I’m one of the best coders in the world.
Why don’t we just jettison our trash into the Sun a few times a year instead of just dumping it in landfills on Earth?
Drone strike scammer call centers and bot farms. It’s getting ridiculous.
