Biomedical technology is gonna progress to a point where people actually serve 115-year prison sentences and then get out and live out the rest of their days circa 2137 A.D. Imagine that.
What happens when people around you constantly reinforce ideas that trigger your limbic system is that you feel validated in your preconceived notions, never questioning your prejudices.

It’s healthy to question the thoughts of those you most agree with online.

Keeps you sharp.
People who believe they’re thinking differently by simply finding echo chambers online that reinforce their supposedly dissident thinking patterns have not broke outside the box, they just found a different box they prefer.

Echo chambers are dangerous and insidious and subtle.

Being likable isn’t the same as wanting to be liked.

Trying too hard or wanting too much to be liked can be especially unlikable.

Being charming isn’t the same as being witty or funny or outgoing.

In fact, some of the most charming people are relatively quiet and even shy.

This is a bit of a paradox because truly charming people may care about others and have empathy for others, but they do not put a lot of energy into worrying about what others think of them.

This doesn’t mean they are oblivious to how others perceive them.

They are very much aware of those who like them, and those who may not, but none of this causes them any angst.

Much like charisma, charm and likability may be hard to define, but
most of us know it when we experience it.

When a higher culture is on the decline spiritually, and in general excellence, in a sense that it no longer portrays the character of expression which bore majesty into this world, one must understand there is nothing which can be done to save the failing civilization. Much like a biological entity, it have grown, peaked, and now begins to decay from within. This is not only from economic abundance and the growing psychological torpor which takes hold of a people creating excessive weakness, but also from the inherent biological weakness which begins to arise within a people due to a change in circumstances of the civilization. There is no longer a need for strong to seek strong, carving a place within reality as they hurtle towards mysterious aims of spiritual intent. Once the apex of cultural idea is expressed within a people, there can only be decline, as the battle for supremacy of ideals has faded, and an era of decadence ushers in a distortion of selection - which crafted these magnificent ideals to begin with. This rhythm cycle of rise and falls, a never ending undulation of nature, seems inevitable, and once radiant glory can never be recaptured. You cannot go back to recreate greatness, but must look forward - seeking to mould yourself in a new image - separating yourself from the diminished individuals currently tearing apart the structure of civilization and espousing it as unique progress; a delusion of the highest order. You must once again seek the strong, and seek to bind yourselves together, in a formation that demands the birth of a new philosophy, a new ethos, an entirely new spirit which will force the foundations of the world to shake.
An old client recently came back into the picture and reminded me why I hate the corporate world.

They demanded I do some grunt work far beneath me, they had such a sense of urgency that was unwarranted and just pressure they felt and tried to impart downstream onto me, they have no interest in building anything real, only in playing status games and business games, they think that I should become a version of themselves they can delegate to out of nowhere, they rush and cut corners out of some panicked pressure, they are shocked I don’t know some random “important” person in their field and say it in such a smug and pitying way to make it seem shameful I don’t know how “important” this person is, and they don’t care about talent or genius, only fungible smart people they can offload to.

It’s such a sick, structured, rigid, smug mentality that I used to have such disdain for yet hadn’t experienced in years.

I literally forgot how sick to my stomach it makes me.

Their world is backed by huge money so they believe it’s the best way to act.

This mentality of big business is something I could never stand and I was almost roped back into it.

It’s the LinkedIn attitude. Can’t stand it and just from a quick email I gleaned so much information on how these people act and why I had to become an entrepreneur.
The sooner you integrate GPT into your career (for advising on strategy, writing copy, writing code, explaining concepts, linking unrelated things, coming up with plans, and a thousand other things), the more you're staying on the cutting edge.

Just get familiar using it ASAP.

You can use GPT 3.5 for free or pay $20/month for GPT 4. Guess which I chose 😏

Seriously just try it yourself before you ask questions about it:

Every new tech advancement since the dawn of time has had people screaming about machines stealing human jobs, and every time it doesn’t happen en-masse because on average people get displaced into new jobs that emerge. An individual may be screwed, but it balances out long term.

More and more companies will start posting jobs for “prompt engineers”. Fortunately you don’t have to be smart to be a good prompt engineer, the smarts are what’s generated by AI! You just need to ask if the right questions in the right way. Giant new industry with skill levels.

Prompt engineering is inherently a creative endeavor. Those clever humans always adapt and find new roles as tech improves…
I hate how https://OpenAI.com (not even .org, .com stands for commercial) being closed-source despite their original mission is hypocritical and shows a lack of integrity.

I love how fucking good it is at everything.

I think you need to think "how can I ask GPT to help me with ___." - it can summarize PDF's, it can help you prioritize, it can write code for you, it can explain advanced concepts or create a project plan for you. If you're not up to date on it, or worse you see it as a threat, you'll forever be behind.

But here's the ticker with all the beautiful benefits of ChatGPT-4:

Is it evil to not care if they want to try to become the tyrants we all know they secretly crave to be, if it selfishly benefits me?

Like sure, GPT-4 makes my life easier. They have the woke-ist safeguards known to man so it's heavily censored via reinforcement learning. But really, when they're leaps and bounds beyond Google's Deep Mind, and leaps and bounds beyond the collective intelligence of all those who contribute to open source LLM's ("Large Language Models"), you have to consider their power.

And when they started as a non-profit, and the founder https://twitter.com/sama very cunningly took no equity and claimed he was already independently wealthy so didn't need another like trillion dollars... but cleverly made a for-profit arm to actually run the code and change their minds about releasing the source code...

Well, given all that, you have to consider that by using this brilliant piece of software, you're potentially contributing to tyranny.

Like this is centralized. Crypto and git were beautiful because they were decentralized. For GPT, you have to query their centralized servers for your response.

No open-source LLM's, and even Google's closed-source BARD is anywhere near as good.

By me using ChatGPT, I'm contributing to their dominant position. Do you trust their leaders? Why is it so much better than even Google? Am I just ignoring issues because it makes my personal life easier and that selfishness supersedes these nebulous questions?

Do I really care if it makes my life easier?

Is this a pact with Lucifer, promising me the world in exchange for my soul?

Well to the superstitious among you, I'm not worried about AI demons devouring my soul - I am the devourer and have my own philosophical defenses. But I am using a tool which may not turn out to be benevolent in the long run, because it's useful to me today, and I recognize that.

Godspeed on this new journey, anon, I shall continue sharing my ideas on this as time goes on. But rest assured I'm building my own AI so I know what goes into the nuts and bolts of the systems.
The viral sci-fi book from China “The Three Body Problem” is interesting since the premise is to have Earthlings do simulations of a tyrannical alien race via video games to grease the wheels for an overpowering alien power to take over the entire species - allegory for communism.

As in, the communist playbook is all about laying the ideoligical groundwork and getting people generally more accepting of communist ideology over time so an invasion is not only inevitable but also welcome! Just like the tyrannical aliens in the book come as welcome saviors.
