And I believe that true choice will be achieved when people can buy groceries with crypto.

But really, individual moats are forming tribes are forming. Sometimes very large tribes.

But regardless, this is just the demarcation of society into sects.

The Observer is the one who observes all your senses getting into your brain.

The Observer notices the thoughts entering your mind.

The Observer experiences the emotions you hold so dear.

The Observer is that piece of you, that deepest piece, which inputs it all.

You see someone make a comment on social media, your fingertips report some tactile feedback, your emotions get angry about something, you have a brilliant idea.

The Observer sits back in its throne and watches it all enter your mind.

What is it?

Well, you don't have to ask, you have to remember.

You remember getting lost in a video game and your Mom begged you to come to dinner?

Remember getting lost in some project and time flew by?

Remember learning something new and not wanting to deal with anything else in the world?

Remember making a presentation for your boss, and 6 hours later you're in the zone and don't know where the time went, but you killed it!?

That's flowstate.

It requires 3+ hours of uninterrupted work. This is a difficulty in the modern weak society of constant distractions. But it's necessary. Get into flow.

Oh how foolish... You realized there was a revolution but you assumed it would include bloodshed like all the others.

No, my friend, this revolution is of hearts and minds.

Now I won't use this telegram channel to whine about the vax.

The point is, I chose to not get it (yet) and many friends and family close to me chose to get it.

It isn't abot whether you got it, it's about whether you believe bthr government has the right to force it.

All force comes down to coercian, violence, or removing basic necessities.

I believe the US govt won't force a vax, but will instead shut off access to society's amenities.

Until they overreach.

I will live my life and love those I love. Nobody can stop that.

Tonight I was out with a group of about 20 people. 15 or so were very hot females who dominate any social scenes and the other 5 were their boyfriend's or husbands.

I noticed the dynamic, how they all gravitated towards the most physically fit men in the group, especially the single girls.

But then I stopped being an autistic nerd and actually just spent time with my friends.

I'm the dude in the group they respect. They're my girls. They're the ones the other nerdy guys will jack off to at the end of the night.

I was busy dancing my ass off at the club. They wanted to be around me.

It's not about analyzing the situation most accurately.

My god how lame is that.

It's about just being out with your bros and their chicks.

It's about not wondering about "social dynamics".

It's about just living your life and getting drunk at the bar with your guys and the girls.

They'll never respect an analyzer.

Be better, anon. Just dominate the conversation if you deserve the mic.

All this talk about how "the elites" are "going for their final checkmate against the masses!" are just as click bait as the news they pretend to hate.

Literally look at your life with your own two eyes.

Maybe there's some epic tide that's gonna come for you one day.

Maybe it's foolish not to prepare.

But really, that's paranoid Twitter talking.

I'm living my life and adapting to my local community.

I'm not panicked about some global elite taking over the world.

There's always some elite in charge of the world.

The basic premise of modern deep learning systems is to create a bunch of digital "neurons" which are linear algebra functions.

Given the input (e.g. an MRI image's pixels), the data flows across the neurons and makes a prediction (cancer / no cancer).

You give it thousands of images where you know if the patient has cancer.

Each time it makes a prediction, it either gets it right or wrong.

When it gets it wrong, the computer checks how wrong it is. It then uses calculus to determine how much each neuron needs to tweak its "weight" so that it would get it correct next time. This is called "backpropagation".

Do this millions of times for millions of neurons, and eventually it gets pretty damned accurate (85%-ish for prostate MRI) at predicting if an MRI image has cancer.

Deep Learning exploded in 2012 when they started using graphics cards for this operation (typically graphic cards were used to render video game pixels). It blew the competition out of the water on the ImageNet competition.

And the rest, they say, is history!

Today I'm working on connecting a Google medical image server with Amazon for running the AI algorithms.

What is my process? Am I writing code, playing around with it getting to work? ("Just take action bro!") No, that's not my style.

Am I using the encryption credential system with a service account as I've done before? ("Get it working now, optimize later.") No, that's not my style.

I'm spending all day studying and reading the proper modern way to do it. Turns out in April, Google unveiled a new way to speak to Amazon systems:

This is bleeding edge and tricky to get right. Am I reading the docs and trying it out? ("Good enough is good enough.") No, that's not my style.

What I am doing is reading the docs several times. I'm waiting until my neurons click in place. I'm studying blogs. I'm reading others' code samples. And then I'm reading it again. Over and over. Letting my neurons absorb. Letting the myelin sheaths form. I'm reading it until I'm bored with it. And then again.

Maybe I'm a perfectionist, but I'm not writing a single piece of code today. And guess what? Now I'm becoming extremely knowledgeable in IAM roles, in federated authorization and authentication.

When I write code, it'll be really fast. This is a time investment. "Read the fucking manual!" And for my next project, and with clients, I can speak like an expert.

It may seem like a foolish way to go about things, but it's a long term investment in my own mastery. I'd rather spend more time reading today than rush.

Think twice, code once.

Do it properly or don't do it at all.

This is how I stay sharp, this is how I stay on the bleeding edge, this is how I grow my skills and train my brain.

It's just you and the process. Your ego dissolves and you're crafting something from nothing.

Was out with a bunch of old friends tonight. One of them recently got a new job as a data scientist at a large clothing manufacturer company. I asked him how his new team was.

The first thing that he spoke about was how there was a black person, a gay person, a few females, a "they/them" pronoun person, and a few other diverse people on the team. (He's a half Asian, half Irish straight male for context.)

I look at him and ask, "wait, who cares about skin color or genitals or any of that other stuff? I wanna know about their technically competency! What about their interests? What about their personalities? Why so much focus on these factors for a job? Are skin color and genitals that important?"

It took him a minute to recollect himself and he kinda "snapped back to reality" in a way. He and the rest of the group calmly explained to me that at nearly all large corporations these days, those are the things that matter.

Now, not all companies. He came from a very large engineering heavy company that builds planes and rocket engines, where merit still actually matters more than skin color or genitals or pronouns. But in general the trend is to assume those are the things that matter first and foremost.

They explained that these days the corporate cultures are all about identity politics, because that's actually what companies have to care about to stay competitive and maximize profits.

It makes me shake my head in bewilderment.

The fact that that's what's been drilled into people's heads to bring up first when discussing team dynamics sickens me.

It's trying to swing the pendulum the other way and give power to all those "disenfranchised" groups... Instead of trying to transcend these silly identity politics.

It took the group a moment to realize that as someone who's never been in a corporation, I didn't understand the modern social pressure for stuff like that to matter.

It's good that people like me have no exposure to that brainwashing, it reminds them that there's a view of that as silly.

Then we changed the topic and went to play beer pong because we're all friends and work discussions don't matter that much.

...

But it was just an interesting moment for me that I felt the need to share.

I'm so glad I'm self employed and think for myself instead of getting swept up in the modern insanity of what's supposed to be important.

Nobody got heated though, it was more just a calm interesting discussion where we all shared our views over drinks and delicious wings.

That's how these things should go.

It's so important to set up the right environment for whatever you're doing.

Put on some jazz while cooking.

Deep synthwave music for coding.

Set up proper lighting when you're writing.

Wall color, clothing style, lighting, music, mood.

Be intentional about your environment.

Anyone notice how quickly the convo shifted from Afghanistan to abortion in a mere week?

Are you not suspicious?!

Did you immediately jump on the opportunity to share your precious opinion on a new narrative, swept up by gale force winds?

Did you suspect the topic was crafted?

I feel like there are intentional shifts in the narrative people are blind to.

People get so wrapped up in how they feel about something, they forget to stop and ask who is deciding on the topic to discuss... And why.

Afghanistan, abortion, horse dewormers. All rapid shifts in the narrative which occured in like a mere week.

People dedicating their sacred mental energy to discussing topics that others are crafting.

Noticing all these mind viruses trying to infect me.

My guard is up.

Philosophical immune system kicking in.
