Extremely Online political commentary of both the left and right are too fucking stupid to realize Pizza Hut wasn’t about chain pizza, but about an America when the white family was still in tact and thriving.

All of those “consumerisms” are the markers of that better, old, and now long gone, america.

Rich Houck's Pizza Hut essay was an amazing piece of literature that hit me in the feels.

Much of the Lefts arguments for anything - eating bugs, high-density living, Brazil-like living conditions - comes down to "Well, the humble brown man of the third world does it , so we should too."
The myth of the Noble Savage is so far embedded into them at this point that you could convince them of incest, and they'd do it. All for some Anthony Bourdain Cyberpunk fantasy world.

Imagine not understanding what Rich meant by 7/11 Nationalism and pining for the days of Blockbuster because you're too dense.
It's obvious he was referring to a better time - one that had a distinct character to it. A time and a place that people can still remember. A better quality of life used to exist, and Rich shows us via nostalgia what life was like.
Like I've said, people in the online right take themselves too seriously.
Perhaps he's not as pretty as Keith Woods, speaking in his flat affect as he talks about Spengler or Ukraine for hours on end, but his work has a human element to it, something most RW people here don't have. The ability to make you feel more than outrage (or, in some cases, sheer boredom) in their writing.
Rich did nothing wrong.

Idk I'd rather read about empty malls and the ghosts of a high-trust society than some boring essay about geopolitics and third positionism.
