Been with horse my whole life. Not with a self or money agenda. Simply setting myself aside and focusing on learning the horse. So my perception is not clouded. That being said horse racing is absolute cruelty. They use BABIES. That's right. Horses aren't fully physically and skeletal fully in place until at least 4 years old. Some breeds longer. These horses on the track are usually 2-3 years. Keep in mind it's taken extensive training and hard work to get to that place. They become lame young. And are often discarded when their monetary value doesn't measure up. There are rescues for discarded track horses. Sometimes they have to stall them in a safe stall as they "detox" from all of the heavy drugging and worse to perform. They can injure themselves and humans if this safety protocol is not applied. Also, understand, they are trained to RUN without hesitancy. Which is only conducive on the track and builds.upon their #1 defense mechanism...RUN! However, this is only beneficial in escape or track. Most other riding activity becomes dangerous on a horse that just wants to burst forth with speed and run full bore as hard and long as they can. Greatly diminishing any worth for other equestrians that may have been interested in them. It takes A LOT of hard and knowledgeable work to take the RUN out of a track horse. Few want to put in the effort. Almost ensuring these horses a horrific end at a slaughter house that is beyond description cold, evil and horrifying...at a very young age. Also....know...as the horses suffer broken limbs and unsuccessful repetive death attempt in these hell holes, they some understanding of what's waiting for them and they go through the motions in complete terror. Even at many horse auctions, horses are in despair and scared to death. The horse industry is terribly wicked, cold as ice and despite the fact that some care for their steeds in some ways, it's miniscule to the big despicable picture. It's meat for money and entertainment. It's disgusting. It needs to stop. And it's not just racing. Mankind will answer for the way they destroy these precious gifts. It is being recorded. All of it.
