JazakAllah Khair (to a male)
JazakiAllah Khair (to a female)
JazakumAllah Khair (to a group)
Meaning: "May Allah reward you with good."
It's more than a thank you, it's a dua for the person, asking Allah to reward them instead of just praising them yourself.
How to reply when someone says it to you:
Wa Iyyak (to a male)
Wa Iyyaki (to a female)
Wa Iyyakum (to a group)
Meaning: "And you too."
Small phrase, but a beautiful sunnah to bring into daily conversation.

Great endeavours are proportionate to the resolve of those who undertake them,
And noble deeds are proportionate to the nobility of those who perform them.
Even their lesser deeds appear great in the eyes of the small-minded,
While the greatest deeds appear small in the eyes of the truly great.

"Evaluate people by their actions, and leave aside their words. For Allah has not left a statement except that He has appointed for it an indication from an action that either confirms it or proves it false.
So when you hear a good statement, take your time regarding its speaker. If his statement and his action agree, then excellent indeed, and a delight to the eye! So take him as your brother, love him, and befriend him.
But if his statement and his action contradict one another, then what is there about him that could confuse you, or what is there about him that could be hidden from you? Beware of him, and beware of him! Let him not deceive you as he deceived the son of Adam.
Indeed, you have a statement and an action; your action has greater claim upon you than your statement.
And you have an inward reality and an outward appearance; your inward reality has greater claim upon you than your outward appearance.
And you have an immediate matter and an ultimate outcome; your ultimate outcome has greater claim upon you than your immediate matter."

A young man came to the Prophet (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and said, "O Messenger of Allah, give me permission to commit zina." The people turned to rebuke him, saying "Quiet, quiet!" But the Prophet told him to come close and sit down.
He asked, "Would you like that for your mother?" The young man said, "No, by Allah, may I be sacrificed for you." The Prophet said, "Neither would people like it for their mothers." He asked the same about his daughter, his sister, and his aunts, each time the young man said no, and each time the Prophet said people wouldn't like it for theirs either.
Then the Prophet placed his hand on him and said, "O Allah, forgive his sins, purify his heart, and guard his chastity." After that, the young man never again inclined to anything sinful.
Prophet Muhammad (sallAllahu 'alayhi wa sallam)

We say that whoever commits a nullifier from the nullifiers of Islam is a disbeliever, whether from the Shia or others. Whoever commits one nullifier from the nullifiers of Islam โ even if it is just one โ becomes a disbeliever; meaning, if one nullifier makes a person a disbeliever, then what about the one who commits many nullifiers?

The sin hiding inside your good deeds
You pray a little longer when someone is watching. Not much longer. Just a little.
The Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam called this the smaller shirk, and said it hides better than a black ant on a black stone on a moonless night.
It was never about the prayer. It was about who you were praying for.
Musnad Ahmad

It is more obligatory for you (to learn and understand Aqeedah) than knowing the rulings of prayer, charity, other acts of worship, and other religious issues, because this is the foremost and fundamental issue.

Keeping a cat is not a Sunnah, understand this well.
Abu Hurairah (radiyAllahu 'anhu) loved cats, and that's why his name became Abu Hurairah โ but that doesn't make keeping a cat a Sunnah. That's the talk of some ignorant people, not the words of a scholar.
Keeping a cat is simply permissible. These matters need to be understood properly, and one must have knowledge of the deen.

Why you cannot say you were wrong
Someone corrects you and your chest tightens before they finish. You know they might be right. You argue anyway.
They asked the Prophet sallallahu alayhi wa sallam what arrogance was. He did not mention wealth or status.
Arrogance is rejecting the truth and looking down on people.
That is the whole of it.
Sahih Muslim
