Remembering Srebrenica
Today marks 30 years since the Srebrenica genocide. Over 8,000 Bosnian Muslims were killed by Serbian forces simply because of their faith.
Most were young men and boys. They were buried in mass graves, and some bodies are still being discovered today.
We remember each life lost. We remember their families who still carry this pain.
May they rest in peace and may we never forget.

Itโs not trending now. So,
We donโt post. We donโt protest.
We scroll past the numbers like theyโre just news.
62,000+ killed. Thousands still under rubble.
But somehow... we got used to it.
We boycotted for a whileโ
Then slowly went back to buying the same things.
We said we care.
We said weโre one Ummah.
We said "Free Palestine."
But only when everyone else was saying it too.
Now? Silence.
This is what hurts the most.
Not just the genocide.
But the way the world moved on.
The way we moved on.
And yesโwe still call ourselves the Ummah of Muhammad
But we donโt even mention Gaza anymore.
What a shame.

Jฤbir ibn โAbdullฤh (ุฑุถู ุงููู ุนูู) reported:
The Prophet (โค๏ธ ) said:
โ [Sunan Ibn Majah, 254 | Authentic Hadith]
๐ Explanation
The Prophetโค๏ธ warned us against seeking knowledge with the wrong intention โ like showing off in front of scholars, arguing with ignorant people, or gaining status among others.
Such a person risks falling into arrogance and hypocrisy.
Knowledge should be sought sincerely for the sake of Allah.
Purify your intention. Learn for Allah, not for fame.
The Prophet (
Do not seek knowledge in order to show off in front of the scholars,
or to argue with the foolish;
or to get the higher status in gatherings.
Whoever does that, the Fire, the Fire.

Fudayl Ibn โIyaad (ุฑุญู

๐ฟ Sincerity isn't about being seen โ it's about being known by Allah.
It's to act and learn purely for His sake, seeking only what lies with Him โ not praise, not recognition.
But beware...
One of the subtle signs of hidden showing-off (ar-riyaaโ ul-khaafee) is that silent joy you feel when someone praises your deed, or notices your effort.
The Salaf considered this hidden riyaaโ more dangerous than even major sins โ because it's a veiled form of shirk, the gravest of all sins, even if minor in appearance.
๐ So, O dear brother...
Search your soul. Examine your heart.
If you find in yourself a craving to be seen (riyaaโ) or heard (samโaah), then weep over it.
For the one who loves to be noticed will be exposed with humiliation,
โ in this world,
โ and the next.
๐ We ask Allaah to protect us from this disease,
and to grant us hearts that seek only His gaze โ in both worlds.
Aameen.
โIf you see a scholar or a worshipper taking pleasure in their righteousness being mentioned before the rulers or the people of this world โ then know that he is merely a show-off.โ

People from Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, and Morocco are filling empty water bottles with rice, lentils, and beans, and tossing them into the sea, hoping the current carries them to Gaza.
This is one of the most powerful acts of love and solidarity I have ever seen.
