Today, Taliban and Pakistani Army in War like Situation. Taliban built army post at Torkham Border, the border used for trade and people movement.

Why is the Taliban Attacking Pakistan since 2-3 months?

i. Pakistan’s Crackdown on Afghan Refugees: Over 600,000 Afghans have been deported.

ii. Pakistan’s Airstrikes in Afghanistan: Targeting TTP hideouts, enraging the Taliban.

iii. Border Disputes: Taliban doesn’t recognize the Durand Line, Pakistan’s border with Afghanistan.

India's foreign secretary Vikram Misri met acting Afghan foreign minister Amir Khan Muttaqi in Dubai.

1. Opportunity for India: With relations worsening, the Taliban is looking for new allies and India is seizing the opportunity.

2. India is exploring trade routes via Iran’s Chabahar Port to bypass Pakistan entirely. Afghanistan’s $1 Trillion worth of minerals (including lithium & rare earth metals) could soon flow toward India, cutting Pakistan out.

The US, most untrustworthy ally in the world.
I am explaining this how...

[1] Vietnam War: The U.S. promised to support South Vietnam but withdrew troops after signing the Paris Peace Accords in 1973. When North Vietnam launched a full-scale invasion in 1975, the U.S. did not intervene, leading to the fall of Saigon.

[2] Kurdish Betrayal in Iraq and Syria: The U.S. has supported Kurdish forces in various conflicts (Iraq, Syria) but often abandoned them when geopolitics changed. E.g. The U.S. backed Kurdish rebels against Iraq in 1975, but after a deal with Iran and Saddam Hussein, support was withdrawn, leaving Kurds to be crushed.

[3] Expansion of NATO in East Europe: The U.S. allegedly promised the Soviet Union that NATO would not expand eastward after German reunification in 1990. However, NATO expanded significantly, leading to tensions with Russia.

[4] Betrayed Saddam Hussein: The U.S. supported Saddam Hussein against Iran but later turned against him, leading to his downfall in the 2003 Iraq invasion.

[5] Pakistan: The U.S. made Pakistan a key ally after 9/11 but later conducted unilateral operations (like the killing of Osama bin Laden in 2011) on its soil without informing its government. The U.S. also sanctioned Pakistan multiple times despite it being a close ally in various Cold War conflicts.

[6] AUKUS Deal 2021: The U.S. secretly negotiated a submarine deal with Australia and the U.K. (AUKUS) that canceled France’s $66 billion contract with Australia. France called it a “stab in the back.”

[7] Afghanistan in 2021: After 20 years of promises to support the Afghan government, the U.S. abruptly withdrew troops, allowing the Taliban to regain control in days. Afghan allies were left behind, with many facing execution.

[8] Betraying Ukraine in 2025: The US funded this war as part of containing China by evoking for NATO grouping. Now the same US appeared to blame Zelensky for the war and chided him for not starting peace talks with Russia. The same US says that US will not give security guarantees to Ukraine.

Why Russia despite being so Agrarian historically, is industrialized?

[1] One major reason is the discovery of oil and natural gas reserves in the late 19th century, which propelled the country's economic growth.

[2] Additionally, the Soviet Union's centralized planned economy and extensive investments in heavy industry during the 1920s to 1950s facilitated rapid industrialization.

[3] The government's focus on developing a strong manufacturing sector, including steel, machinery, and automotive production, also contributed to the country's industrialization.

Key Concerns with Delimitation in India

[1] North-South divide: Delimitation based on the new Census could increase seats for North India and reduce the political influence of South Indian states.

[2] Fiscal challenges: The Finance Commission allocates funds partly based on population; states with higher seats could demand more resources.

[3] Fear of political manipulations: Delimitation can be used to redraw boundaries favoring certain political parties or communities.

[4] Impacts reservation of seats: Communities benefiting from reservation may lose their constituency status due to demographic shifts.

[5] Political shift: The 2022 Delimitation in J&K gave more seats to Jammu (Hindu-majority) than Kashmir (Muslim-majority), leading to allegations of bias.

🔹 What Triggered the Violence?

1️⃣ Meitei Demand for ST Status
📌 "The Meiteis have been demanding Scheduled Tribe (ST) status, which would give them access to reserved government jobs, education quotas, and land rights in hill areas. But the Kukis and Nagas oppose this, fearing loss of their autonomy and resources."

2️⃣ Land and Identity Issues
📌 "Manipur's laws allow only tribals to own land in hill areas, while Meiteis are confined to the valley. This has created a feeling of exclusion among the Meiteis and insecurity among the Kukis about land encroachment."

3️⃣ Illegal Immigration & NRC Demand

📌 "Another issue fueling tensions is the alleged influx of illegal immigrants from Myanmar, particularly from the Chin-Kuki tribes. Many demand the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) to identify and deport illegal settlers."

4️⃣ Drug Trade and "War on Drugs"
📌 "The Manipur government launched a 'War on Drugs', targeting poppy cultivation in tribal areas. But the Kukis allege this disproportionately affects them, leading to resentment and further violence."

5️⃣ Breakdown of Law & Order
📌 "The situation worsened when mobs looted weapons from police stations, and armed groups started attacking rival communities. Allegations of bias by the administration further deepened the mistrust."

6️⃣ Role of Militant Groups
📌 "Insurgent groups, both Meitei and Kuki, have played a role in fueling violence. The Indian government had peace agreements with Kuki militants, but their involvement in clashes has raised concerns."
