This isn't fear porn. It's being realistic.
America is going to get involved in this war.

Common sense will tell you our enemy already has sleeper cells here due to our porous borders.

Our electrical infrastructure is going to be targeted. This could be done with an organized effort to physically attack sub stations or via a cyber attack.

We could lose the ability to communicate for a while.

Have supplies on hand and be prepared to hunker down.
