Some thoughts on the survival of USD.

CBDCs, or Central Bank Digital Currencies, represent a significant shift towards a new financial system, as they introduce a digital dollar that will be accompanied by a new paper version (a must). The conversion of physical cash to the new digital/paper dollar will likely reveal instances of worldwide illicit activity, which in turn could lead to deflation and an increase the value of the USD since that cash won't be converted. However, the success of CBDCs globally will depend on their being backed by precious metals. Without such backing, CBDCs will be fail worldwide. Excessive money printing will become easier with CBDC's and could lead to hyperinflation, as seen in Venezuela, and could even spell the end of the USD as the world's reserve currency.

As a result, metal-backed digital currencies will emerge as a more viable alternative.

We are living in interesting times.

We know they are already tracking us and can shut our bank accounts / paypals/ youtubes etc with a flip of a switch. My hope is that a blockchain ledger will make it easier to track them. 11:49 PM EST
