Iraq and the US have reached a framework allowing Iraqi banks cut off from international financial networks to gradually regain cross-border banking access, following talks between CBI Governor Ali al-Allaq and US Treasury officials.
➡️ Seven Iraqi banks are currently eligible to reconnect with non-dollar correspondent banking, with full dollar transaction access to follow as they meet further compliance and anti-money laundering standards.
