Fireworks at Mount Rushmore were initially stopped in 2010 by the National Park Service due to wildfire risks and water pollution concerns. While a display occurred in 2020, regular annual fireworks were halted after 2009. Fireworks are scheduled to return for the 250th anniversary on July 3, 2026.

Power has been restoredto Denver International Airport (DIA) following a roughly 90-minute outage on Wednesday morning, March 18, 2026, that triggered a ground stop and widespread delays. The outage began around ➡️9:20 a.m., stopping the underground train system and forcing the FAA to halt flights. While power is back, significant residual delays are expected.

Power Status: Restored around

Operations: The FAA ground stop was lifted at approximately 11:30 a.m..
Impact: Over 250 flights were delayed and several cancelled. The train to gates was shut down temporarily, causing massive crowds in the main terminal.
Cause: The cause is under investigation, following reports of a potential Xcel Energy substation issue.
Action: Passengers are strongly advised to check flight status with their airline before arriving at DIA.

All planes have been instructed to park on the runway because there is no way for them to move the jetway bridge to allow people on/off plane.

The trains are down and no way for people to get out of the terminal.

March 18 (Reuters) - Saudi Arabia will host a consultative meeting of foreign ministers from ‌a number of Arab and Islamic countries in Riyadh on Wednesday to discuss ways to support regional security and stability given the Iran war, the kingdom's foreign ministry said.
A Turkish diplomatic source ⁠said separately that representatives from Azerbaijan, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, Pakistan, Qatar, Syria, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates would attend the meeting.
