🚨 BITCOIN CRASHES BELOW $53,000 IN SUDDEN DROP, WIPING OUT LEVERAGED POSITIONS
Bitcoin experienced a sudden crash on August 5, dropping 10% from $58,350 to as low as $52,500 in under two hours.
It has since recovered slightly, trading at $54,384.
This marks the first time Bitcoin fell below $53,000 since February, after the approval of spot Bitcoin ETFs in the U.S.
The crash resulted in over $740 million in leveraged positions being liquidated across the crypto market, with Ether (ETH) traders hit hardest, losing over $256 million in ETH longs.

If the year of 2024 has proven anything so far, it’s that our worries about the potential outbreak of WWIII are absolutely reasonable. The skeptics making accusations of “conspiracy theory” and “doom and gloom” have been proven wrong yet again. The geopolitical atmosphere is turning sour fast.
I still don’t think a lot of people realize how truly volatile the situation is globally right now. From my point of view, WWIII has already begun, at least in economic terms.
Let’s not forget the fact that Ukraine is essentially a proxy for all of NATO against Russia. And, the situation in the Middle East is about to become much worse. Because of the alliances involved and the fragile nature of global energy exports there is a danger of systemic collapse should a wider war break out between Israel and multiple Arab nations. It appears that such a war is imminent.

The Mexican peso has extended its losses in Asian trading, with the currency plummeting as much as 5.4% against the U.S. dollar.
The USD/MXN exchange rate surged to 20.2181, the highest level since September 2022, as traders rushed to unwind their long carry trade positions involving the peso.
Carry trades, where investors borrow in low-yielding currencies to invest in higher-yielding assets, have become increasingly risky amid the current market turmoil.
Traders are now scrambling to exit these positions, driving the peso sharply lower.
