this lab was good

I learned a lot about hardware properties (gate errors, readout errors, coherence times), comparing IBM devices and worked on dynamic circuits.

How to interpret quantum hardware specs

- Number of qubits: how many physical qubits the chip has. (Note: "programmable" = the ones you can run on, "physical" = total on the chip.)

- Basis gates: the only gates the hardware can natively run. Your code gets transpiled so it's expressed using just these.

- Readout error: the error during measurement. Lower is better.

- 1Q / 2Q gate error: the noise each gate adds. Two-qubit gates are ~10× noisier than single-qubit ones, so this is the number that judges a device.

- CLOPS (Circuit Layer Operations Per Second): how many gate layers run per second. Throughput, like classical computers. Higher = faster (not more accurate).

- T1 (energy relaxation): time for excited |1⟩ to decay to |0⟩.

- T2 (dephasing): time before phase coherence between |0⟩ and |1⟩ is lost.
The longer T1 and T2, the deeper the circuit you can run before noise wins.

wasting my precious 10 minutes per month IBM's compute time and not getting the result I wanted hurts more

I'm done with this.

I'm satisfied with my work and I did try to finish the bonus lab too but I don't actually get it(it's about obtaining ground state for Nitrogen molecule on real qc device using SQD).

this was nice:)

I think I gotta set a rule to limit the number of different books I read at the same time

4 sounds like a good number...maybe 3

Which major is better in AAU?
My sister is trying to pick a major that would give her a good foundation in her undergrad and would let her customize it to her interest later on. These are the two choices we're considering right now.

She will still do/learn coding but I feel like she has to have another niche beside that.

Okay, this is finally up.

Not a men vs women thing, not a lecture. A lot of us live in a bubble, tech, creative, liberal spaces, where things look fine for women, but there's a mindset that follows us out of it and into our own heads. I wrote a piece to show what it's actually like to move through the world as a woman, so you feel it instead of being argued at. Including what the "man-hater" is really reacting to, because it isn't hate, even when it sounds like it.

Please read the whole thing, it's one picture, and the pieces only add up together. Half of it out of context reads wrong.

If you've ever been confused why women say it's still not okay when it looks fine to you, this is the walk-through.

And if it resonates, share it with anyone you think it might reach, women who'll feel seen, and men who genuinely want to understand
