Barbara Liskov is credited with formalizing and inventing the concept of abstract data types (ADTs) and data abstraction in the early 1970s. https://youtu.be/T9CGjbPZeaM?si=NOfB2Vhdr8wi1FY3 (tbh I thought data abstraction was one of those concepts thatβ¦
Ewin Tang (born 2000) is a computer scientist at the University of California, Berkeley. She was named as one of 2019 Science Forbes 30 Under 30 for her work developing classical algorithms which matched the performance of the fastest known quantum algorithms, done as an undergraduate under the supervision of Scott Aaronson.
(she's so inspiring. I wish to read and understand her work someday)

as a girl, education gives you choices. I believe choice is the most important thing to have. your whole life depends on it.
the system isn't made for you, and being incompetent on top of that is a slap to your future self.
(it's really disappointing to have the access generations of women didn't have and not use it to your advantage.)

the book was also amazing
it's crazy how the author was a software engineer and wrote this magnificent book(his other books are on my list)

I understand that formal education isnβt the best here, but one has to take responsibility for teaching themselves. It could be through reading books, building things, or anything else that helps them learn.
Like that quote: βThe ultimate sign of intelligence is getting what you want from life.β For me personally, when I was 18, I realized I didnβt like the way I thought about things and decided to change it. I started reading and made it a goal. I can see progress and new perspectives too, I guess. Anyway, learning should be continuous.
βLife is like error correction. The moment correction stops, you die.β I heard that today.
(Iβll edit this after I reply to the other questions.)

Itβs not too late. In fact, itβs probably the best time to start.
I recommend taking the math courses seriously, especially linear algebra. Understand it really well. Also, try to get software internships or build projects, because you need to become capable through practice.
Personally, I loved compiler design and formal languages classes. I donβt know, explore different areas, but those are somewhat related.
Try to get research experience as well.
Of course, not all at the same time, but yeah.
