Recognition and Support Granted to the Dire Dawa University Student Union Charity Division for Its Exemplary Deeds
Today, a special consultation and recognition forum was held within the Dire Dawa University campus, attended by the University’s senior management, representatives of Civic Societies of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia, and leaders of the Student Union’s various divisions.
At the forum, the humanitarian activities carried out by the Student Union’s Charity Division throughout this year, both within the university and for the community outside the campus, were presented in detail by the Union's Public Relations head and were discussed extensively.
The students' engagement in mutual aid and humanitarian acts alongside their academic studies earned high praise from the forum attendees. Mr. Endale Moges, Dean of Student Services, conveyed their messages of appreciation.
During the event:
✅ Material Support: Recognizing the encouraging nature of the work performed, the Civic Societies donated computers and laptops to help facilitate the office work of the Charity Division.
✅ Recognition Awards: Certificates of thanks and recognition were awarded to those who dedicated their time and energy to participate in these charity works.
In their remarks, leaders of the Civic Societies stated, "It is encouraging to see students engaged in such benevolent activities filled with humanity; the division should strengthen and continue this noble deed." They further confirmed their readiness to provide necessary support and partnership in the future.

"The much-anticipated Big Sister project was officially launched today, jan 3, 2026, at an event attended by the Student President, Gosa Kebede. During this program, a comprehensive explanation about the project was provided. This project is aimed at building family-like relationships among students. Furthermore, it creates a platform where senior students can share their experiences with new incoming students. At this event, President Gosa Kebede and the Vice President for Women's Affairs, Bilisuma Geletachew, shared their personal experiences, emphasizing the importance of participating in extracurricular activities."
