Israel Shows Criminal, Shameful Tolerance of Settler Violence against Palestinians, French Foreign Minister Says
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot on Sunday accused the Israeli government of showing “criminal and shameful tolerance” toward settler terrorism against Palestinian civilians in the occupied West Bank.
Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar said on Sunday that Israel had revoked the credentials of Dutch diplomats in Ramallah in response to the Netherlands’ ban on goods from Israeli settlements.
"We informed the Dutch Embassy in Israel this evening that Dutch diplomats operating in Ramallah must return their Israeli-issued diplomatic documentation within seven days," Sa’ar said in a post on X, adding that after this period, the diplomatic privileges and immunities granted to them will expire.

UK police arrested an elderly peaceful protester outside the Labour Party conference for holding a sign reading, “I oppose genocide. I support Palestine Action.”
The arrest was made under the Terrorism Act, prompting criticism over the use of counter-terror legislation against a protester holding a placard.
The incident has raised broader concerns about the use of terrorism laws in response to peaceful political expression and opposition to government policy.

26 Years Later: Al-Aqsa Again at the Center of Tensions
September 28 marks 26 years since the outbreak of the Second Intifada, or Al-Aqsa Intifada. On this day in 2000, then-Israeli opposition leader Ariel Sharon entered the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound under heavy security, an event followed by Palestinian protests that developed into a nearly five-year uprising. Official figures cited by Anadolu put the Palestinian toll at 4,412 killed and 48,322 injured.
On September 28, 2026, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir entered the same compound during Sukkot, accompanied by police protection, and publicly called for Israeli sovereignty over the site. His visit came as Israeli authorities imposed restrictions around occupied East Jerusalem’s Old City.
