Congressman Jonathan Jackson welcomed the UK’s ban on trade in goods from illegal Israeli settlements, saying settlement expansion, land seizures and settler violence are driving the forced displacement and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.

Israeli authorities have renewed a six-month order barring Al-Aqsa Mosque guard Fadi Alyan from accessing the mosque and all roads and entrances leading to it.

Alyan has been barred from Al-Aqsa for five years.

Congressman Joaquin Castro welcomed the UK’s sanctions and trade ban on Israeli settlements, calling the measures a step in the right direction.
He urged any US president committed to peace to take similar action.
UN Special Rapporteur Francesca Albanese welcomed the UK government’s position on Israel’s occupation and its illegality, describing it as a much-needed beginning.
