UN teams in Gaza collected Wednesday hundreds of pallets of supplies from the Kerem Shalom-Karem Abu Salem crossing, Mr. Dujarric said.

American actress Susan Sarandon stated on Sunday that she continues to be blacklisted from Hollywood roles due to her opposition to Israel's military campaign in Gaza.

It is worth mentioning that many others have signed open letters criticising Israel's conduct of its genocide on Gaza, which has left around 73,500 Palestinians killed and 174,500 injured since October 2023.

The transport system handling Gaza's humanitarian aid has collapsed, turning internal travel into a critical bottleneck. Heavy destruction and a blockade on spare parts have reduced the working truck fleet to a tiny fraction of pre-war levels. Without functional trucks, fuel, or intact roads, essential aid like food and medicine becomes trapped before reaching distribution centers.

At the same time, aid drivers face immense life-threatening risks from military attacks and destruction along heavily damaged distribution routes. While international focus often centers on how many trucks enter Gaza through border crossings, aid workers argue that the ability of these trucks to actually survive the journey and reach local distribution hubs is the far more decisive factor in preventing humanitarian catastrophe.

As part of his party’s campaign ahead of the October 27 election, Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir announced a proposal called "Disengagement 710" to establish a dedicated government "migration office" aimed at orchestrating the mass removal of Palestinians from the Gaza Strip under the guise of "voluntary migration."

The multi-year plan sets explicit target goals to relocate 250,000 residents in the first year, 1.11 million within three years, and up to 1.86 million—the vast majority of Gaza’s 2.2 million population—over seven years. Ben-Gvir framed the strategy as the only real solution for Gaza.

Eight countries—including Egypt, Qatar, Jordan, the UAE, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Saudi Arabia—issued a joint statement strongly condemning recent calls by Israeli ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Israel Katz to displace Palestinians from Gaza.

The condemnation comes as far-right Israeli politicians push mass displacement proposals ahead of Israel's October general election. Ben-Gvir unveiled a multi-year plan targeting the departure of Gaza’s population.
