New T+rror Group 'Mahmuda' Strikes Kwara Community, K+lls Two Militants in Gun Battle

A newly-emerged t+rr%rist group known as Mahmuda launched a fresh attack on Duruma village (Karonji) in Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara State on Friday evening, sources have confirmed.

Arriving on motorcycles, the m+litants opened fire indiscriminately and set ablaze a vehicle and several motorcycles belonging to the local vigilante group.

However, they were eventually repelled by local security operatives, with two of the attackers reportedly k+lled during the confrontation.

The attack has sparked fear among residents, who now worry about possible follow-up atsaults.
Mahmuda, a t+rror group active in North Central Nigeria, has previously been linked to attacks across rural communities near Kainji Lake National Park.

Affected areas include villages in Kaiama and Baruten LGAs in Kwara, as well as Babana and Wawa Districts in Borgu LGA of Niger State.
