😀Kimi K3 has surpassed Opus 4.8 in generating retro arcade games, achieving comparable results at roughly half the cost.

Atomic Chat, a desktop application capable of running local LLMs, tasked three models—Kimi K3, GPT-5.6, and Opus 4.8—with creating self-playing versions of Road Fighter, Battle City, and Q*bert in single HTML files. Each output required integrated graphics, opponent logic, game rules, and an autonomous player within one file.

Performance metrics showed Kimi K3 and GPT-5.6 produced similar token counts (18.4K and 18.1K, costing $0.28 each), while Opus 4.8 generated 21.3K tokens at $0.54.

Kimi K3’s Q*bert demonstrated stable game logic, allowing effective navigation and enemy avoidance. GPT-5.6, while offering visually superior results, encountered functional issues with player logic in Road Fighter and Battle City.

🔥Real Steel has officially become reality

China has launched Ultimate Robot Knockout Legend (URKL), a full-fledged fighting league where humanoid robots step into the ring and battle for glory.

The tournament features 16 teams, but everyone uses the exact same robot. There are no hardware advantages.

The winner is decided by software.

Each team develops its own AI, control algorithms, movement, balance, reflexes, and fighting strategy, turning every match into a battle of engineering rather than expensive hardware.

💰 There’s also serious money on the line: a 10 million yuan (around $1.4 million) prize pool.

And the fights are already delivering unforgettable moments.

In one of the first matches, a robot gets completely decapitated after taking a huge hit… then simply gets back up and keeps fighting like nothing happened. 🤯

The commentators couldn’t help but laugh: “Well… now the opponent can’t score any more headshots.”

Even better, watch until the end, the winning robot actually celebrates its victory, making it look like a scene straight out of Real Steel.

This isn’t just entertainment. It’s also a showcase of how far robotics and AI have come.

Would you pay to watch robot fights instead of human MMA? 🤔

🤖 ChatGPT just made finding old conversations way easier

No more endless scrolling through your chat history.

OpenAI has rolled out unified search in ChatGPT, letting you search across chats, projects, uploaded documents, and images from a single search window. The feature is now available on web, iOS, and Android.

You can also apply filters to narrow your search and jump straight to the exact message, document, or project you’re looking for.

If you’ve been using ChatGPT for months (or years), this is one of those small updates that makes a huge difference. Finding old prompts, notes, and files now takes seconds instead of minutes.

🤖 ChatGPT launches Chrome extension to rival Gemini

OpenAI released a ChatGPT extension for Chrome that reads the active tab and answers questions about its content without copying text into the chat.

The extension can summarize, translate, and respond based on the open webpage, directly competing with Google's Gemini sidebar.

Gemini still leads by handling 10 tabs at once and integrating with Gmail, Calendar, and Drive, plus Auto Browse for form filling and bookings.

The competition now focuses on which browser better understands and acts for the user, not just on chatbot intelligence.

🤖 Anthropic limits Fable 5 access

Anthropic restricts Fable 5 to the priciest plans, Max and Team Premium, with no usage limit changes.

Starting July 20, pro users switch to credit-based payments and get a one-time $100 API credit.

Anthropic lacks capacity for wider access amid competition from GPT-5.6 and Kimi K3.

Ⓜ️ Meta could become Anthropic’s biggest AI landlord

Meta and Anthropic are reportedly in talks over a massive $10 billion AI compute deal, according to Reuters.

If finalized, Meta would lease enormous amounts of AI computing power to Anthropic over the next two years, becoming one of the key infrastructure providers behind Claude.

The numbers are staggering:

💰 Up to $10 billion total
⚡️ Around $417 million every month for AI compute alone

It’s a surprising twist considering Meta is building its own AI models while potentially powering one of its biggest rivals at the same time.

🗣"AI is like oil." Chamath's latest take on All-In is the simplest explanation of why AI pricing is about to collapse.

He said think of one million AI tokens as one barrel of intelligence.

Anthropic sells that barrel for $56. OpenAI sells it for $26. Elon sells it for $1. Zuck sells it for $1.50. Google sells it for $1. The Chinese sell it for 50 cents.

Same barrel. Wildly different prices.

His point: "If you've made a bet around one of these folks selling extremely expensive barrels of intelligence, you may run into some downstream
difficulty."

The capability gap between the expensive models and the cheap ones is shrinking every month. The pricing gap hasn't caught up yet. When it does, someone's margins collapse.

😀Kimi K3 has temporarily suspended new subscriptions due to overwhelming demand, leading to a strain on its GPU computing resources.

Chinese-made inference chips, such as those from Huawei, are expected to see increased demand as a result of these capacity pressures. Inference capability is now a key limiting factor for Kimi K3’s continued growth.

To manage resources, Kimi K3 will prioritize computing power for existing subscribers. The current customer base will not be affected by the pause.

The company plans to expand its capacity and reopen subscriptions in phases. Future membership will be divided into two plans: one for general use and another dedicated to coding-related workloads. This adjustment is designed to align computing resources more effectively.
