Afghanistan: 20 Years, $2 Trillion, 20 Days
First thought is that the US spent 20 years and $2 trillion trying to build a democracy in a half-literate country of goatherders that disintegrated within 20 days. Think what you could have done with that (dependent on your preferences). \

This paper finds that past positive associations between immigration and local native wages are misleading because those economically hurt by immigration often have to move. Adjusting for this, the positive impact of immigration on native wages goes away.

Four pre-registered studies find that people who place a lot of trust in science are more likely than average to fall for false information presented as if it is scientific knowledge, as is the case with pseudoscience and academia-support propaganda.

"Mitchell et al. (2004) (also Mitchell 2005) meta-analyzed the relationship between race and criminal sentencing in America and concluded that the research suggests there is significant discrimination taking place against African Americans. The meta-analysis has numerous obvious shortcomings which make it uncompelling evidence of discrimination (e.g. publication bias is not sufficiently dealt with, the controls utilized in these studies are overly broad, continuous outcome variables are being unnecessarily dichotomized, etc.). A shortcoming which is not obvious is that the study may have misreported the findings of various papers so as to inflate the estimate of anti-black bias their meta-analysis produced."

No Change in California’s K-12 Performance Despite 60% Spending Increase Since 2011
The 60 percent increase in Kindergarten through 12th grade spending in California's schools, just since 2011, hasn't made a difference in student performance. And it's apparent the money isn't making it into the classroom.

Sweden’s migrant rape crisis
"According to the researchers, Swedish-born offenders with Swedish-born parents accounted for 40.8% of the offenders. But, strikingly, almost half of the offenders were born outside of Sweden (47.7%). Of those foreign-born offenders, 34.5% were from the Middle East/North Africa, with 19.1% hailing from the rest of Africa"

.
"How far does this signify over-representation? On the basis of population records kept by the official agency Statistics Sweden (SCB), approximately 20% (19.7%)"
.
.
.
"Moreover, if we piece various statistics together, we find there are 565,902 foreign-born people living in Sweden who were born in North Africa and the Middle East, representing 4.9% of Sweden’s population."
