Response to a popular puberty blocker study
"Unfortunately, the finding came from a low-quality survey which is known to have elicited unreliable answers on puberty blockers. The analysis assumed that puberty blockers were available in the U.S. several years before they actually were. Most seriously, Turban et al. (2020) barely acknowledged the fact that adolescents with severe psychological problems would have been less eligible for drug treatment, which confounds the association between treatment and suicidal ideation. The article therefore provided no evidence to support the recommendation “for this treatment to be made available for transgender adoles-cents who want it”"

“"We could obtain information about a person’s ethnicity simply by looking in his ears,” chemist Katharine Prokop-Prigge said. Prokop-Prigge is one of the researchers at the Monell Chemical Senses Center in Philadelphia who measured the earwax smells. The team was inspired to see if ethnic groups have different earwax odors after learning that the same gene controls both a person’s underarm odor and the type of earwax they make."

What your earwax says about your ancestry
Both armpit and ear wax secretions are smellier in Caucasians than in Asians, thanks to a tiny genetic change that differs across ethnic groups.

US Air Force releases Racial Disparity Report (Dec 21, 2020)
>enlisted blacks were 72% more likely than enlisted whites to receive [formal punishment by a Commander], and 57% more likely to face courts-martial
>young enlisted blacks are almost twice as likely as whites to be involuntarily discharged based on misconduct
>military blacks are 1.64 times more likely to be suspects in OSI criminal cases, and twice as likely to be apprehended by Security Forces.
>black service members are the subject of substantiated sexual harassment allegations slightly over twice as often as white service members
>enlisted blacks are overrepresented in accessions when compared to their proportion of the eligible U.S. population
>enlisted blacks are underrepresented in operational career fields and overrepresented in support career fields
(Note: generally, enlisted members downgrade to support from operational when they fail initial skills training or cannot meet aptitude requirements for operational fields)
>since 2015, black officers have been overrepresented in [formal training] nominations, but underrepresented in designations to attend
>black service members are underrepresented in promotions to E5-E7 and O4-O6
>black officers are underrepresented in “Definitely Promote” allocations for O5 and O6
>black military civilians are underrepresented in [high ranking civilian] grades.
>across the enlisted population, the data revealed no consistent disparity in retention rates by race
>no inherent, systemic, or procedural biases were found in the twenty personnel guidance documents or the legal publications pertaining to discipline
>As the standard disciplinary action for a positive drug test for marijuana is an Article 15, the disparity between the numbers of Article 15s for drug use between white and black Active Duty Airmen E1s to E4s appears to be the result of a disparity in behavior rather than racial bias
Again “a disparity in behavior rather than racial bias”. This is the military officially associating behavior with race.

One interesting comment i found awhile ago
"turks rebuilt Germany?
According to this biook:
Diplomatische Tauschgeschäfte: Gastarbeiter in der westdeutschen Diplomatie und Beschäftigungspolitik 1953-1973
https://www.amazon.de/Diplomatische-Tauschgeschäfte-Gastarbeiter-westdeutschen-Beschäftigungspolitik/dp/3412200743
Turks had nothing to do with rebuilding the country.
1.) They were too late to be involved in it. The "Gastarbeiter" during this time were primarily Italians.
2.) Gastarbeiter are primarily a mean to remove trade deficits and currency imbalances of countries that import German goods but don't sell to Germany. (Think Greece today)
3.) Germany did not want Turkish "Gastarbeiter" The response of the Politicians was, Nope too different culturally.
4.) The reason Turks were brought to Germany was US pressure to support the Turkish state, a NATO member, in order to keep it from collapsing and possibly turning communist.
5.) The original contract read: Only Turks from the European part of Turkey and only for a limited time, having to go back.
The Turkish state was in a financially very problematic situation at this time,
which made it necessary to send the jobless to Germany in order to support the finances.
And that Germany had a more than sufficient supply of European neighbors willing to send additional workers. (Germany was sending back Italians at the time)
Turkey was a NATO member before Germany, and is in a Strategically important position.
It's also interesting to note that later Gastarbeiter were also coming from financially instable countries closer to the borders of the Soviet block
Possible reason why turks were not send back was because the parties discovered Turks as potential voting block"

"Using the Wayback Machine, The Western Journal obtained the apparently scrubbed list of chorus members and cross-referenced those names with a database of registered sex offenders in California.
While the matches could be coincidental — some offenders may just happen to have the same name as members of the choir — The Western Journal unearthed at least four credible matches: David Wallace, Lawrence Earl Friedberg, Luis Cuadra and Keith Pepper."

Do non-g gains from the Flynn effect matter? Yes and no
The Flynn effect is raising IQ without raising general intelligence. IQ scores from different eras measure different combinations of mental abilities. This is why comparing older generations’ IQs with later generations’ IQs produces nonsensical results.
