❗️Telegram снова ломают. Компания Group-IB, специализирующаяся на предотвращении кибератак, сообщает, что несколько российских предпринимателей пожаловались на взлом их переписки в Telegram неизвестными. Доступ к мессенджеру хакеры смогли получить, перехватив СМС с кодом двухфакторной авторизации. Речь идет и об устройствах iOS, и об Android и о клиентах разных операторов связи. На всех устройствах смс были единственным фактором авторизации.

Атака начинается с сообщения от сервисного канала Telegram с кодом подтверждения, который пользователь не запрашивал. После этого приходит смс с кодом активации — а в сервисный канал приходит уведомление о входе в аккаунт с нового устройства. Избежать атак можно, если использовать дополнительный фактор авторизации в виде пароля — это советует и сам Telegram. Обнаружив факт использования аккаунта на другом устройстве, пользователь может прекратить стороннюю сессию.

Как именно удалось перехватить СМС, пока неясно — устройства не были заражены вирусами, учетные записи не были взломаны, подмены SIM-карты тоже не было. Скорее всего, хакеры используют специальные техническе средства или инсайд в операторах сотовой связи, пишут в Group-IB. Теоретически механизм атаки может применяться и к другими сервисам, которые используют авторизацию по СМС — проверьте их тоже.
