The Beliefs of the Alawi/Nusyariyyah Sect
Abū Hurayra said: “The Prophet ﴾ صلى الله عليه وسلم ﴿ said, ‘The worst of my community are those who talk a lot, those who go too far in what they say and who fill their mouths with words. The best of my community are the best of them in character.’”

The Beliefs of the Alawi/Nusyariyyah Sect
The Beliefs of the Alawi/Nusyariyyah Sect
Following is a summary of their main beliefs:
-Belief in reincarnation: unbelievers (Muslims, Christians, Jews) return as animals, whilst 'Alawis are reincarnated in other 'Alawis and eventually can reach the state of luminous stars. Faithful Alawis believe they must be transformed or reborn seven times before returning to take a place among the stars, where Ali is the prince. If blameworthy, they are sometimes reborn as Christians or Jews, among whom they remain until atonement is complete
- The eternal existence of the universe.
- Denial of Resurrection , Hell, Paradise except in this world.
- The five prayers are: Ali , Fatimah, Hassan, Hussain and Muhsin. Mentioning these names would suffice for abolution , purification from Janaba and the commandments of prayer
- Fasting is the recitation of the names of thirty men , and thirty women mentioned in their books. The main 'Alawi Holy Book is the "Kitab al-Majmu'" compiled by al-Khasibi and containing 16 Suras. Other sacred books are: Kitab al-Mashaykha (manual for Sheikhs), Kitab Majmu' al-'Ayad (Book of Feasts.
This was translated into French in Beirut in the mid-ninteenth century by a Nusairi convert to Christianinty who was later assassinated by the community) and Kitab Ta'lim al-Diyana al-Nusayriyyah, the 'Alawi chatechism
- Ali Ibn Abi Talib is the manifestation of Allah. The 'Alawi profession of faith states: "I testify that there is no God but 'Ali ibn-Talib the one to be worshipped, no Veil but the Lord Muhammad worthy to be praised, and no Gate but the Lord Salman al-Farisi the object of love".
Which is summed up in the following poetry in Arabic:
أشهد أن لا إله إلا == حيدرة الأنزع البطين
و لا حجاب عليه إلا == محمد الصادق الأمين
و لا طريق إليه إلا == سلمان ذو القوة المتين

CHRISTIAN THAT MET PROPHET MUHAMMAD [ﷺ] AND BECAME MUSLIM
After Meeting The Prophet [ﷺ] Adey ibn Hatim At-Taa'ie. Calling to Allah was the mission of all the Messengers and Prophets beginning with Adam until the Last Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ) and his followers, as Almighty Allah says in the Qur’an: Say (O Muhammad), “This is my way; I invite to Allah with insight, I and those who follow me. And exalted is Allah; and I am not of those who associate others with Him.” (Al-An
Then, the Prophet invited him to embrace Islam and
Imam Ahmad also narrated on the authority of
am 6:108)
Their mission was to bring people out of the darkness of disbelief into the light of Islam, from worshiping idols to the worship of Allah, and from the Hellfire to Paradise. The Prophet (ﷺ) used to call people with wisdom and beautiful preaching based on the Qur’anic guidance as Almighty Allah says: Invite to the way of your Lord with wisdom and good instruction, and argue with them in a way that is best… (An-Nahl 16:125)
In the following, we will discuss in brief the story of the conversion of
Adi ibn Hatim At-Ta’i who was one of the greatest figures of Christianity during the period that preceded Islam: Adi was the son of Hatim, the chieftain of Tai’ tribe, which lived in Najd Province in the central part of Arabian Peninsula. After the death of Hatim, his son
Adi was crowned as the ruler. When Muhammad (ﷺ) started calling people to Islam, Adi felt threat to his rule. Therefore, he began to oppose Muhammad and act against the interests of Islam.
Adi and his tribe were Christians. When Islamic conquests came near to his tribe’s boundaries, Adi decided to flee to Syria that was under a Christian King. Due to his haste in leaving his people, he could not take his beloved sister along with his caravan proceeding to Syria. It was narrated that, when
Adi knew about the Prophet’s mission, he moved to Syria. His sister and a group of his tribe were taken as prisoners. Later, the Prophet (ﷺ) released her and she returned to her brother (Adi) asking him about converting to Islam.
Adi came at the head of a group of his tribe to meet the Prophet (ﷺ) in Madinah. Adi’s father was known for his generosity, so the people of Madinah were pleased with his coming to the Prophet.
Adi came to the Prophet with a cross of silver around his neck while the Prophet was reciting: They have taken their scholars and monks as lords besides Allah… (At-Tawbah 9:31) Adi said that they did not worship them, but the Prophet replied, “Yes, but they prohibited to the people what was lawful and permitted them what was unlawful, and the people obeyed them. This was indeed their worship of them.” The Prophet then said, “O
Adi what do you say? What is wrong in declaring that Allah is the Greatest? Do you know any God other than Allah? Then, the Prophet invited him to embrace Islam and
Adi accepted.
Adi said, “I saw him (the Prophet) with a cheerful face saying: ‘Indeed the Jews have evoked Allah’s Anger whereas the Christians are misguided.’” (At-Tirmidhi and Ahmad) Imam Ahmad also narrated on the authority of
Adi, “I came to the house of the Prophet (ﷺ) and he said,: “O
Adi, accept Islam and you will be safe!” I replied, “I already have a religion.” The Prophet said, “I know more about religion than you do.” I said, “You know more about my religion than I do?” The Prophet said, “Yes, are not you from the Rukusiyyah (a sub-sect within Christianity and Sabeans)? And when you go to war, do you not share one quarter of your people’s booties?” I said, “Yes.” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “I know what is preventing you from accepting Islam. You think that the only people to follow this religion are the oppressed people who have no strength: the Arabs have discarded them. O ‘Adi! Have you heard of Al-Hira (a city in ‘Iraq)?” I said, “I have not seen it, but I have heard of it?” After that, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “I swear by the One Who has my soul in His Hand, Allah will complete this affair, until a woman travels from Al-Hira to make circumambulation around the Ka`bah, without fearing anyone, and the treasures of Kisra ibn Hurmuz will be seized.” I said, “The treasures of Kisra ibn Hurmuz?” The Prophet sai

Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
“For each (person), there are angels in succession, before and behind him. They guard him by the Command of Allah”
[ar-Ra‘d 13:11]
‘Ikrimah narrated from Ibn ‘Abbaas that he said:
“They guard him by the Command of Allah” – this refers to angels who protect him from in front and from behind, but when the decree of Allah comes, they step back.
Mujaahid said: There is no person who does not have an angel appointed over him, to protect him whilst he sleeps and when he is awake from the jinn, humans and vermin, so none of them come towards him, intending him ill, but the angel says: Get back – except for something that Allah decrees is to reach him, then it befalls him.

Nationalism is a call to ’asabiyyah (partisanship and party spirit):
Ibn Taymiyyah (d.728H) – rahimahullaah said
In Majmoo’ul-Fataawaa (3/456)
: “Everything which is outside the call of Islaam and the Qur‘aan, with regards to lineage, land, nationality, schools of thoughts and ways, then it is from the calls of jaahiliyyah. Indeed, even when the Muhaajirs(those Companions who migrated from Makkah to al-Madeenah) and the Ansaars (those Companions who aided and supported those who migrated) argued, such that one of the Muhaajirs said:
“O Muhaajirs! (implying; rally to my aid).” And then one of the Ansaar said: “O Ansaar!” Upon hearing this, the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: “Is it with the calls of jaahiliyyah that you call, and I am still amongst you!” And he became very angry at that.”
Related by al-Bukhaaree (8/137)
And from the textual evidences pertaining to this issue is Allaah the Most High’s saying:
“And stay in your homes and do not display yourselves, like the display of the times of jaahiliyyah (pre-Islaamic ignorance). But establish the Prayer, give the Zakaat and obey Allaah and His Messenger.”
[Sooratul-Ahzaab 33:33]
“When those who disbelieved placed in their hearts pride and arrogance the pride and arrogance of jaahiliyyah then Allaah sent down His tranquility upon His Messenger sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam and upon the Believers…”
[Sooratul-Fath 48:26]
The Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: “Whosoever leaves off obedience and separates from the Jamaa’ah (united body) and dies, then he dies a death of jaahiliyyah. Whoever fights under the banner of the blind, becoming angry for ’asabiyyah (partisanship and party spirit), or calling to ’asabiyyah, or assisting ’asabiyyah, then dies, he dies a death of jaahiliyyah.”
Related by Muslim in his Saheeh (6/21), from Aboo Hurayrah (radiyallaahu ’anhu)
Also in Saheeh Muslim (8/120), the Prophet (sallallaahu ’alayhi wa sallam) said: “Indeed Allaah has revealed to me that you should have humility, and that no one should act proudly and oppressively over anyone else, nor should anyone boast over anyone else.”

The call of Bilāl and the tears of Al-Shām:
It is reported that Bilāl – Allāh be pleased with him – never used to call the adhān for anyone after the death of Allāh’s Messenger – Allāh’s peace and blessing be upon him. He wanted to go for al-jihād but Abū Bakr didn’t want him to go.
So Bilāl said, “If you freed me [when I was a slave] for Allāh’s pleasure, then let me go.”
So he went to Al-Shām.
When ʿUmar arrived in Al-Jābiyah [during his Caliphate], the Muslims requested him to ask Bilāl to do the adhān for them, so ʿUmar asked him. He called the adhān one day, and never were as many people heard crying as on that day, as they remembered the Prophet – Allāh’s peace and blessing be upon him.
It is said that the adhān of the people of Al-Shām was taken from this adhān.

Allah will definitely help His Messenger(peace be upon him):
Allah says:
Whoever thinks that Allah will not help him in this world and in the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope to the ceiling and let him strangle himself.
Ibn Abbas said,
"Whoever thinks that Allah will not help Muhammad in this world and the Hereafter, let him stretch out a rope (إِلَى السَّمَاء to the ceiling), to the ceiling in his house, (ثُمَّ لِيَقْطَعْ and let him strangle himself), let him hang himself with it.''
This was also the view of Mujahid, Ikrimah, Ata', Abu Al-Jawza, Qatadah and others.
The meaning is:
whoever thinks that Allah will not support Muhammad and His Book and His Religion, let him go and kill himself if it annoys him so much. For Allah will most certainly help and support him.
Allah says:
إِنَّا لَنَنصُرُ رُسُلَنَا وَالَّذِينَ ءَامَنُواْ فِى الْحَيَوةِ الدُّنْيَا وَيَوْمَ يَقُومُ الاٌّشْهَـدُ
Verily, We will indeed make victorious Our Messengers and those who believe in this world's life and on the Day when the witnesses will stand forth. (40:51)
Allah says here:
... فَلْيَنظُرْ هَلْ يُذْهِبَنَّ كَيْدُهُ مَا يَغِيظُ ﴿١٥﴾
Then let him see whether his plan will remove that whereat he rages! As-
Suddi said,
"Meaning, in the case of Muhammad.''
Ata' Al-Khurasani said,
"Let him see whether that will cure the rage he feels in his heart.''

Speak good or remain silent:
Narrated by Abū Hurayrah, and collected by Bukhari and Muslim, the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) said,
“Whosoever believes in Allāh and the last day then let him speak good or remain silent.”
The Prophet (ṣallallāhu ʿalayhi wa-sallam) was given the ability to make short statements with broad meaning; meaning, that they have many different benefits. His statements/responses are comprehensive and encompass a number of issues.
The Salaf used to be silent much but when they spoke their speech had a lot of benefits.
