So this year, I locked myself in the library and shipped a mini SaaS to solve that.
Why just wish me happy birthday when you can contribute toward my burger, internet, or Mac instead? π

Instead of refactoring and setting up a different repo for different person but the same project
i decided to use multiple branches on same repo so the person whose birthday is today will use the main branch, while people who have already celebrated will move to the archive/{person's name} branch
each archived branch is just a static download page so there is no backend for them
only the main branch has access to the backend.
On the backend, we just change .env vars like the telebirr number and the links.et API key (no need to gave them my API key :) )
i call it this as a multi-tenant system powered by git branches Hehe π

Eski let me wright abt this
Aha
i used to have a senior friend who graduated three years ago during my freshman year i spent most of my breaks hanging out with her honestly my campus life wouldn't have been the same if i hadn't met her
she was more than just a friend she was a mentor someone i could learn from and look up to and despite us having different religious backgrounds she would even encourage me to go to church π
even now the campus doesn't feel quite the same without her
after she graduated life naturally created some distance between us we still called each other from time to time but eventually those calls became less frequent
recently i tried reaching out a few times but she wasn't answering my calls i started thinking maybe life wasn't going the way she had planned after graduation or perhaps she just needed some distance so i stopped calling
but every now and then something on campus would remind me of her and i'd find myself missing those old days
today i decided to call her again
and guess what she had been going through a really critical situation she had spent most of her time in the hospital and had even come frighteningly close to death
man that hit me hard
it made me realize how easily we can assume things about people without knowing what they're actually going through
becha check on your people drop the ego put aside your assumptions and make that call don't wait for a special occasion to reach out to someone you love
sometimes a simple phone call means more than you could ever imagine β€οΈ
