警察家屬擬 8.25 集會遊行籲「還警於民」 促政府設獨立調查委員會「挽救殘局」
由警察家屬組織的「警員親屬連線」今晨發文，表示將於本月 25 日下午在中環愛丁堡廣場，舉行名為「還警於民」的集會，其後步行至請願行動，警總及特首辦遞交請願信。「警員親屬連線」提出 5 個訴求，包括成立全面獨立調查委員會、呼籲警隊高層重定行動手法、懇請前線警察克己自律等，呼籲警員親屬及市民參與。
組織發起人 Sunny 早前受訪表示，希望警民不再完全對立，林鄭月娥沒法再以警隊為屏障，需要正面面對市民，讓反修例運動重回正軌。
七月中成立的「警員親屬連線」今晨於 Facebook 專頁發文，表示將於 25 日下午 2 時，在愛丁堡廣場，以「還警於民」為題舉行集會，隨後亦會步行至警總及特首辦遞交請願信，即將向警方申請不反對通知書。帖文提到，希望政府能夠「挽救殘局」，聆聽市民心聲及成立獨立調查委員會，懲治手法不當的人，及為盡責警員平反。
帖文亦提出 5 個訴求，包括要求特首盡快與其班子積極討論市民訴求的可行性；呼籲警隊高層制定一套適合於處理現時示威者的行動手法；促請成立警民溝通平台； 懇請前線警察刻己自律，不徇私和以保護市民為首任；成立全面獨立調查委員會。
「警員親屬連線」日前亦曾發文，提及成立組織有四大爭取目標，包括成立獨立調查小組、要求政府盡快回應市民訴求、問責高層、支持員佐級協會發起遊行為前線警員發聲。
「警員親屬連線」發起人、前線警員之妻 Sunny 早前曾在本網專訪中提及，警隊「腐敗」既見於「永不認錯」的態度，「你為咗你警隊的垃圾聲譽，同埋你那幾個可能都未見過的所謂『手足』，白白唔去接納一個大家提供畀你、可以還你清白的機會。」
她亦表示，警員不僅是要「講義氣」維護「兄弟」，更要維護警隊聲譽，直斥「如果你真係講義氣嘅，周街都有啦，黑社會都有啦」。

我們深愛我們任職警員的家人，當初他們投身警隊，是因為一份熱愛正義的心，希望警惡懲奸，維護法治，保護市民。但現在因為政治問題迫不得已與市民對峙，已令他們心酸不已，加上警隊行動策劃不善，個別前線警員處理手法問題，令警民關係墮入深淵。
現在能挽救殘局的方法，只有政府聆聽市民心聲及成立獨立調查委員會，懲治手法不當的人，更為盡職的警員平反。

我們的五項訴求:

After our rally the police relatives will walk to the Chief Executive's Office and the Hong Kong Police Headquarters to submit the petition letter.
*We will apply to the police for the no objection letter.

As family members we deeply love our police. Deep inside their hearts the police believe in justice. They want to protect the public with the rule of law. However because of political problems, the police have been forced to confront the public. It is tragic that the police force has been mismanaged. Individual frontline police officers have used methods that have made the police-civilian relationship fall into an abyss.
The only way to save the endgame is to listen to the voice of the public and set up an independent investigation committee to thoroughly look into the improper police management and behaviour, and to also rehabilitate the decent police officers.
Our 5 demands:
1. Let politics settle political issues. The Chief Executive and her team should actively discuss the feasibility of a citizen appeal as soon as possible;
2. Call the top of the police force to develop a set of appropriate actions to deal with the current protesters. Try different sensible ways to handle the protests and to reduce conflicts;
3. Urge the establishment of a platform for the citizens and police officers to communicate in good faith, to mend the broken relationship;
4. We urge the frontline police to enact their own self-discipline and to enforce the law in a fair and impartial way to protect the public;
5. Establish a comprehensive independent investigation committee to thoroughly investigate the various factors involved in the protests to date.
We hope to invite relatives of police officers and the public who have similar thoughts to participate.
