π¨ CVE-2025-4598
A vulnerability was found in systemd-coredump. This flaw allows an attacker to force a SUID process to crash and replace it with a non-SUID binary to access the original's privileged process coredump, allowing the attacker to read sensitive data, such as /etc/shadow content, loaded by the original process.
A SUID binary or process has a special type of permission, which allows the process to run with the file owner's permissions, regardless of the user executing the binary. This allows the process to access more restricted data than unprivileged users or processes would be able to. An attacker can leverage this flaw by forcing a SUID process to crash and force the Linux kernel to recycle the process PID before systemd-coredump can analyze the /proc/pid/auxv file. If the attacker wins the race condition, they gain access to the original's SUID process coredump file. They can read sensitive content loaded into memory by the original binary, affecting data confidentiality.

π¨ CVE-2025-5318
A flaw was found in the libssh library in versions less than 0.11.2. An out-of-bounds read can be triggered in the sftp_handle function due to an incorrect comparison check that permits the function to access memory beyond the valid handle list and to return an invalid pointer, which is used in further processing. This vulnerability allows an authenticated remote attacker to potentially read unintended memory regions, exposing sensitive information or affect service behavior.

π¨ CVE-2025-5372
A flaw was found in libssh versions built with OpenSSL versions older than 3.0, specifically in the ssh_kdf() function responsible for key derivation. Due to inconsistent interpretation of return values where OpenSSL uses 0 to indicate failure and libssh uses 0 for successβthe function may mistakenly return a success status even when key derivation fails. This results in uninitialized cryptographic key buffers being used in subsequent communication, potentially compromising SSH sessions' confidentiality, integrity, and availability.

π¨ CVE-2025-5987
A flaw was found in libssh when using the ChaCha20 cipher with the OpenSSL library. If an attacker manages to exhaust the heap space, this error is not detected and may lead to libssh using a partially initialized cipher context. This occurs because the OpenSSL error code returned aliases with the SSH_OK code, resulting in libssh not properly detecting the error returned by the OpenSSL library. This issue can lead to undefined behavior, including compromised data confidentiality and integrity or crashes.

A flaw was found in QEMU. If the QIOChannelWebsock object is freed while it is waiting to complete a handshake, a GSource is leaked. This can lead to the callback firing later on and triggering a use-after-free in the use of the channel. This can be abused by a malicious client with network access to the VNC WebSocket port to cause a denial of service during the WebSocket handshake prior to the VNC client authentication.

π¨ CVE-2025-12464
A stack-based buffer overflow was found in the QEMU e1000 network device. The code for padding short frames was dropped from individual network devices and moved to the net core code. The issue stems from the device's receive code still being able to process a short frame in loopback mode. This could lead to a buffer overrun in the e1000_receive_iov() function via the loopback code path. A malicious guest user could use this vulnerability to crash the QEMU process on the host, resulting in a denial of service.

A vulnerability was recently discovered in the rpc.mountd daemon in the nfs-utils package for Linux, that allows a NFSv3 client to escalate the

A flaw was found in systemd. The systemd-machined service contains an Improper Access Control vulnerability due to insufficient validation of the class parameter in the RegisterMachine D-Bus (Desktop Bus) method. A local unprivileged user can exploit this by attempting to register a machine with a specific class value, which may leave behind a usable, attacker-controlled machine object. This allows the attacker to invoke methods on the privileged object, leading to the execution of arbitrary commands with root privileges on the host system.

An integer underflow vulnerability was found in MIT krb5 in the berval2tl_data() function in plugins/kdb/ldap/libkdb_ldap/ldap_principal2.c. The function performs an unsigned subtraction (bv_len - 2) without a prior bounds check. When bv_len is 0 or 1, the subtraction wraps to a large value which is then truncated to uint16_t, yielding 0xFFFE (65534) or 0xFFFF (65535). The subsequent malloc succeeds and memcpy reads up to 65534 bytes from a 0-1 byte buffer, resulting in a heap out-of-bounds read.
The attack vector involves a malicious or compromised LDAP KDB backend returning a krbExtraData attribute with bv_len < 2, triggering the underflow when the KDC or kadmind reads principal data.
