🚨 CVE-2023-53659
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

iavf: Fix out-of-bounds when setting channels on remove

If we set channels greater during iavf_remove(), and waiting reset done
would be timeout, then returned with error but changed num_active_queues
directly, that will lead to OOB like the following logs. Because the
num_active_queues is greater than tx/rx_rings[] allocated actually.

Reproducer:

[root@host ~]# cat repro.sh
#!/bin/bash

pf_dbsf="0000:41:00.0"
vf0_dbsf="0000:41:02.0"
g_pids=()

function do_set_numvf()
{
echo 2 >/sys/bus/pci/devices/${pf_dbsf}/sriov_numvfs
sleep $((RANDOM%3+1))
echo 0 >/sys/bus/pci/devices/${pf_dbsf}/sriov_numvfs
sleep $((RANDOM%3+1))
}

function do_set_channel()
{
local nic=$(ls -1 --indicator-style=none /sys/bus/pci/devices/${vf0_dbsf}/net/)
[ -z "$nic" ] && { sleep $((RANDOM%3)) ; return 1; }
ifconfig $nic 192.168.18.5 netmask 255.255.255.0
ifconfig $nic up
ethtool -L $nic combined 1
ethtool -L $nic combined 4
sleep $((RANDOM%3))
}

function on_exit()
{
local pid
for pid in "${g_pids[@]}"; do
kill -0 "$pid" &>/dev/null && kill "$pid" &>/dev/null
done
g_pids=()
}

trap "on_exit; exit" EXIT

while :; do do_set_numvf ; done &
g_pids+=($!)
while :; do do_set_channel ; done &
g_pids+=($!)

wait

🚨 CVE-2023-53660
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

bpf, cpumap: Handle skb as well when clean up ptr_ring

The following warning was reported when running xdp_redirect_cpu with
both skb-mode and stress-mode enabled:

The reason for the warning is twofold. One is due to the kthread
cpu_map_kthread_run() is stopped prematurely. Another one is
__cpu_map_ring_cleanup() doesn't handle skb mode and treats skbs in
ptr_ring as XDP frames.

Prematurely-stopped kthread will be fixed by the preceding patch and
ptr_ring will be empty when __cpu_map_ring_cleanup() is called. But
as the comments in __cpu_map_ring_cleanup() said, handling and freeing
skbs in ptr_ring as well to "catch any broken behaviour gracefully".

🚨 CVE-2023-53669
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

tcp: fix skb_copy_ubufs() vs BIG TCP

David Ahern reported crashes in skb_copy_ubufs() caused by TCP tx zerocopy
using hugepages, and skb length bigger than ~68 KB.

skb_copy_ubufs() assumed it could copy all payload using up to
MAX_SKB_FRAGS order-0 pages.

This assumption broke when BIG TCP was able to put up to 512 KB per skb.

We did not hit this bug at Google because we use CONFIG_MAX_SKB_FRAGS=45
and limit gso_max_size to 180000.

A solution is to use higher order pages if needed.

v2: add missing __GFP_COMP, or we leak memory.

🚨 CVE-2023-53673
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

Bluetooth: hci_event: call disconnect callback before deleting conn

In hci_cs_disconnect, we do hci_conn_del even if disconnection failed.

ISO, L2CAP and SCO connections refer to the hci_conn without
hci_conn_get, so disconn_cfm must be called so they can clean up their
conn, otherwise use-after-free occurs.

🚨 CVE-2023-53674
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

clk: Fix memory leak in devm_clk_notifier_register()

devm_clk_notifier_register() allocates a devres resource for clk
notifier but didn't register that to the device, so the notifier didn't
get unregistered on device detach and the allocated resource was leaked.

Fix the issue by registering the resource through devres_add().

This issue was found with kmemleak on a Chromebook.

🚨 CVE-2023-53676
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

scsi: target: iscsi: Fix buffer overflow in lio_target_nacl_info_show()

The function lio_target_nacl_info_show() uses sprintf() in a loop to print
details for every iSCSI connection in a session without checking for the
buffer length. With enough iSCSI connections it's possible to overflow the
buffer provided by configfs and corrupt the memory.

This patch replaces sprintf() with sysfs_emit_at() that checks for buffer
boundries.

🚨 CVE-2023-53679
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

wifi: mt7601u: fix an integer underflow

Fix an integer underflow that leads to a null pointer dereference in
'mt7601u_rx_skb_from_seg()'. The variable 'dma_len' in the URB packet
could be manipulated, which could trigger an integer underflow of
'seg_len' in 'mt7601u_rx_process_seg()'. This underflow subsequently
causes the 'bad_frame' checks in 'mt7601u_rx_skb_from_seg()' to be
bypassed, eventually leading to a dereference of the pointer 'p', which
is a null pointer.

Ensure that 'dma_len' is greater than 'min_seg_len'.

Found by a modified version of syzkaller.

🚨 CVE-2023-53680
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

NFSD: Avoid calling OPDESC() with ops->opnum == OP_ILLEGAL

OPDESC() simply indexes into nfsd4_ops[] by the op's operation
number, without range checking that value. It assumes callers are
careful to avoid calling it with an out-of-bounds opnum value.

nfsd4_decode_compound() is not so careful, and can invoke OPDESC()
with opnum set to OP_ILLEGAL, which is 10044 -- well beyond the end
of nfsd4_ops[].

🚨 CVE-2022-50567
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

fs: jfs: fix shift-out-of-bounds in dbAllocAG

Syzbot found a crash : UBSAN: shift-out-of-bounds in dbAllocAG. The
underlying bug is the missing check of bmp->db_agl2size. The field can
be greater than 64 and trigger the shift-out-of-bounds.

Fix this bug by adding a check of bmp->db_agl2size in dbMount since this
field is used in many following functions. The upper bound for this
field is L2MAXL2SIZE - L2MAXAG, thanks for the help of Dave Kleikamp.
Note that, for maintenance, I reorganized error handling code of dbMount.

🚨 CVE-2022-50569
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

xfrm: Update ipcomp_scratches with NULL when freed

Currently if ipcomp_alloc_scratches() fails to allocate memory
ipcomp_scratches holds obsolete address. So when we try to free the
percpu scratches using ipcomp_free_scratches() it tries to vfree non
existent vm area. Described below:

static void * __percpu *ipcomp_alloc_scratches(void)
{
...
scratches = alloc_percpu(void *);
if (!scratches)
return NULL;
ipcomp_scratches does not know about this allocation failure.
Therefore holding the old obsolete address.
...
}

So when we free,

static void ipcomp_free_scratches(void)
{
...
scratches = ipcomp_scratches;
Assigning obsolete address from ipcomp_scratches

if (!scratches)
return;

for_each_possible_cpu(i)
vfree(*per_cpu_ptr(scratches, i));
Trying to free non existent page, causing warning: trying to vfree
existent vm area.
...
}

Fix this breakage by updating ipcomp_scrtches with NULL when scratches
is freed

Above issue is happens when enable bigalloc and inline data feature. As
commit 131294c35ed6 fixed delayed allocation bug in ext4_clu_mapped for
bigalloc + inline. But it only resolved issue when has inline data, if
inline data has been converted to extent(ext4_da_convert_inline_data_to_extent)
before writepages, there is no EXT4_STATE_MAY_INLINE_DATA flag. However
i_data is still store inline data in this scene. Then will trigger UAF
when find extent.
To resolve above issue, there is need to add judge "ext4_has_inline_data(inode)"
in ext4_clu_mapped().

🚨 CVE-2023-53695
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

udf: Detect system inodes linked into directory hierarchy

hierarchy and vice versa.

🚨 CVE-2023-53698
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

xsk: fix refcount underflow in error path

Fix a refcount underflow problem reported by syzbot that can happen
when a system is running out of memory. If xp_alloc_tx_descs() fails,
and it can only fail due to not having enough memory, then the error
path is triggered. In this error path, the refcount of the pool is
decremented as it has incremented before. However, the reference to
the pool in the socket was not nulled. This means that when the socket
is closed later, the socket teardown logic will think that there is a
pool attached to the socket and try to decrease the refcount again,
leading to a refcount underflow.

I chose this fix as it involved adding just a single line. Another
option would have been to move xp_get_pool() and the assignment of
xs->pool to after the if-statement and using xs_umem->pool instead of
xs->pool in the whole if-statement resulting in somewhat simpler code,
but this would have led to much more churn in the code base perhaps
making it harder to backport.

🚨 CVE-2023-53713
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

arm64: sme: Use STR P to clear FFR context field in streaming SVE mode

The FFR is a predicate register which can vary between 16 and 256 bits
in size depending upon the configured vector length. When saving the
SVE state in streaming SVE mode, the FFR register is inaccessible and
so commit 9f5848665788 ("arm64/sve: Make access to FFR optional") simply
clears the FFR field of the in-memory context structure. Unfortunately,
it achieves this using an unconditional 8-byte store and so if the SME
vector length is anything other than 64 bytes in size we will either
fail to clear the entire field or, worse, we will corrupt memory
immediately following the structure. This has led to intermittent kfence
splats in CI [1] and can trigger kmalloc Redzone corruption messages
when running the 'fp-stress' kselftest:

| =============================================================================
| BUG kmalloc-1k (Not tainted): kmalloc Redzone overwritten
| -----------------------------------------------------------------------------
|
| 0xffff000809bf1e22-0xffff000809bf1e27 @offset=7714. First byte 0x0 instead of 0xcc
| Allocated in do_sme_acc+0x9c/0x220 age=2613 cpu=1 pid=531
| __kmalloc+0x8c/0xcc
| do_sme_acc+0x9c/0x220
| ...

Replace the 8-byte store with a store of a predicate register which has
been zero-initialised with PFALSE, ensuring that the entire field is
cleared in memory.

🚨 CVE-2023-53718
In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

ring-buffer: Do not swap cpu_buffer during resize process

When ring_buffer_swap_cpu was called during resize process,
the cpu buffer was swapped in the middle, resulting in incorrect state.
Continuing to run in the wrong state will result in oops.

This issue can be easily reproduced using the following two scripts:
/tmp # cat test1.sh
//#! /bin/sh
for i in `seq 0 100000`
do
echo 2000 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/buffer_size_kb
sleep 0.5
echo 5000 > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/buffer_size_kb
sleep 0.5
done
/tmp # cat test2.sh
//#! /bin/sh
for i in `seq 0 100000`
do
echo irqsoff > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/current_tracer
sleep 1
echo nop > /sys/kernel/debug/tracing/current_tracer
sleep 1
done
/tmp # ./test1.sh &
/tmp # ./test2.sh &

A typical oops log is as follows, sometimes with other different oops logs.
