I just finished reading the 'paper' and I'm astonished that they aren't even publishing the # of parameters or even a vague outline of the architecture changes. It feels like such a slap in the face to all the academic AI researchers that their work is built off over the years, to just say 'yeah we're not telling you how any of this is possible because reasons'. Not even the damned parameter count. Christ.

Как человек, не отягощенный безусловной любовью, злорадно посмеиваюсь видя очередную новость, где гордые грузины не впустили еще одного профессионального российского оппозиционера пить хванчкару.
Злорадствую от реакции сопутствующей манкуртской общественности, конечно, но вообще-то возмущен подобным несправедливым отношением со стороны Грузии к СВОИМ кадрам, за которые они обязаны нести ответственность.
Начиная с 2009 года Грузия стала одним из центров подготовки т.н. русскоязычной либеральной оппозиции.
Деятельность была организована на государственном уровне, с IRI и IDI на плечах: создавались центры постоянного обучения и проживания оппозиционеров, выделялись гранты и, судя по всему, нескончаемые запасы мефедрона+розовой краски для волос.
Профессиональные инструктора учили надоедливому ненасильственному протесту (чет имя Джина Шарпа все позабыли), объединяться в сквот-коммуны, организовывать медиа-ресурсы и далее по списку.
Иногда доходило до фантасмагории: грузинская правящая партия оплачивала политические мероприятия в РФ, например “Либертарианские Чтения Адама Смита”, куда дополнительно высылали десант лоснящихсяпиздоболовполиттехнологов, собиравших карбонариев в грузинском ресторане для проникновенных бесед, показывая на примере лобио устройство демократии.
И не надо хмыкать с этого абзаца, я своими глазами лично за тем столом сидел.
Дополнительно велось ударное информационное сопровождение: министерство туризма Грузии выделяло бюджеты на поездки лидеров общественного мнения (правда, только оппозиционных) в горы, откуда всевозможные Алешковские-Световы подробно телефонировали какой им сделали массаж, как вручили бутылку вина по прилету и как им нравится общество носатых волосатых мужчин с развитым горловым пением.
Олды еще вспомнят прогон Варвары Туровой про “танцевать на берегу горной реки”.
В целом, тема грузино-еврейского генезиса новиопов, про все эти семейства Дзядко-Тотибадзе, с квартирами в центре Москвы и теплыми должностями, мы еще отдельно разберем, но потом.
В связи с этим абсолютно логично, что прикрепленный аппарат и второсортная агентура (которую не вывезли в более престижные европейские центры по спискам), ввиду радикальных изменений формата действий на вверенном поле, поспешила вернуться на свою базу.
Даже те, кто конкретно не был, а попал под облучение и в панике обнаружил себя в Тифлисе, без цели транзита (и цели вообще).
Грузинские власти запустили в медиа какую-то чушь и попытки соскочить, дескать, наплыв уклонистов из России подорвал социально-политическое устройство страны, деморализовал экономические возможности местного населения, дал больше маневра грузинским женщинам при выборе и вообще устраивают безобразие, но я настаиваю, что это попытка переложить проблему с больной головы на здоровую. Именно Грузия ответственна (в том числе) за всю эту ораву психически нестабильных подростков, документирующих нарко-оргии, гомосексуальный инцест и прочие радости леволиберальной оппозиции в твиттер.
Я подготовил первые шаги, немедленного выполнения которых МИД РФ обязан требовать от Грузии:
1) Создание государственной системы мефедронозаместительной терапии.
2) Организация принудительных бесплатных курсов восстановления психического здоровья.
3) Безусловное выделение жил.площади прибывшим и подъемные деньги на первые 3 года пребывания.
4) Запрет на финансовые операции для Ольги Карчевской и выделение ей 4-х физически крепких грузин в постоянное пользование.
5) Оборудование прозрачных полицейских участков кабинетами для окраски волос в зеленый и/или розовый цвета.
Без выполнения этих требований (для начала), мы должны разорвать все дипломатические и экономические отношения.
Это вопрос защиты наших граждан, которых мы не имеем права оставлять в беде, ни на Донбассе, ни в Тбилиси.

As an SRE Manager, this is causing me a hell of a headache this morning.
In 30 days a bunch of images we depend on may just disappear. We mostly depend on images from relatively large organizations (`alpine`, `node`, `golang`, etc), so one would want to believe that we'll be fine - they're all either in the open source program or will pay. But I can't hang my hat on that. If those images disappear, we lose the ability to release and that's not acceptable.
There's no way for us to see which organizations have paid and which haven't. Which are members of the open source program and which aren't. I can't even tell which images are likely at risk.
The best I can come up with, at the moment, is waiting for each organization to make some sort of announcement with one of "We've paid, don't worry", "We're migrating, here's where", or "We've applied to the open source program". And if organizations don't do that... I mean, 30 days isn't enough time to find alternatives and migrate.
So we're just left basically hoping that nothing blows up in 30 days.
And companies that do that to me give me a very strong incentive to never use their products and tools if I can avoid it.

На углу одного дома в Петрозаводске год назад была наклейка с муми-троллем, а потом её оторвали; остался только след. Но дети все равно каждый раз бегут до нее наперегонки и приветствуют муми-тролля.:)

This is very bad for big periodicals with many subscribers. Under the current model, they get a predictable amount of income and are motivated by keeping the bar high for their content, lest they lose subscribers. Under the new model, their income is entirely based on how many people pick up that issue and read it, which makes it very hard to budget. It also likely means an inevitable slide into "politician SLAMMED other politican, and you'll NEVER BELIEVE what happened next" headlines, since extra clicks are very directly your periodical's source of income.
This is very good news for Amazon because it gives them far more bargaining power against publishers. Right now, if The New York Times decides that Amazon's terms favor Amazon too strongly, the Times walks, and Amazon doesn't get any more money from Times subscribers. Under this system, if the Times walks because Amazon terms favor Amazon too strongly, Amazon keeps the subscribers.
This is moderately good news for customers who read a bunch of stuff on Amazon Unlimited. You now get to read whatever you like for probably around the same cost, and the stuff you naturally choose to read will end up getting a bit of money from it. Yay.
This is probably moderately good news for niche, popcorn periodicals. If you have a "Werewolf Romance Weekly Short Fiction" magazine or "DIY Productivity Tip Of the Week" newsletter, you'll quite possibly make way more money by attracting idly browsing Amazon Unlimited customers than you would have been able to if you had needed to convince people to subscribe to your service.

Спешу сказать, что музей Керамарх в Петропавловке весьма занятен. Если вам хоть немного интересна керамика в декоре и архитектуре (изразцы всякие и тд), то бобро пожаловать.
Лично нам не хватило нескольких деталей. Очень много написано про то, кто и когда сделали ту или иную вещь. Но крайне мало про технологии производства - отдельный небольшой зал о том, как все это делается в принципе. И хватит вам.
Грустно.
Но музей все равно запоминается и оставляет положительные ощущения. Особливо, если учесть, что это всего за 200 целковых в сердце Питера.
