Imagine this: the chief 🐷 himself distances the NYPD from the arbitrary decision-making process that led to the arrest of dozens of student protesters. What does this say about Minouche Shafik and the Columbia administration? That they are willing enemies of truth and justice and know exactly what they are doing.
But we persist! Join us! 🇵🇸

Hundreds upon hundreds of Columbia students, faculty, staff, and community members, representing a historic convergence of youth and elders from across our movements, have taken the west lawn. Out of it has sprung a fierce, beautiful display of life and community. We are chanting, singing, teaching, watching, praying, reading, debating, and breaking bread.
On night 3 and beyond, we are here to stay. Columbia will divest from Zionism. We will accept nothing less! ✊🏽

Dystopian images and sounds from our comrades at NYU, where their own Gaza Solidarity encampment has just been stormed by the NYPD. It is estimated that over a hundred have been arrested, including students and faculty, and more arrests seem imminent. Police buses are currently being prevented from leaving.

The pigs began by targeting courageous NYU faculty members who served as the first line of defense around the students.
BREAKING: With her threat having been leaked on social media, President Minouche Shafik has now confirmed in an email to university affiliates that the National Guard may be used to disperse protesters at Columbia TONIGHT sometime after midnight, presumably in collaboration with Governor Hochul.
This chilling pronouncement comes after days of bad faith “negotiations” on the part of administration, and a little over a week before the 54th anniversary of the Kent State Massacre, when the National Guard brutally murdered 4 students and injured several more for mobilizing against campus militarization and the Vietnam War. Shafik proudly embraces these clear historical parallels.
‼️
🚨URGENT ACTION CALL🚨‼️
‼️
WE ARE CALLING FOR STUDENTS, FACULTY, AND STAFF TO RETURN TO THE LAWN WITHIN THE HOUR, AND FOR PEOPLE OF CONSCIENCE ACROSS NYC TO GATHER IN PROTEST OUTSIDE OF COLUMBIA. WE WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED BY THREATS BY THE STATE. DISCLOSE, DIVEST: WE WILL NOT STOP, WE WILL NOT REST. 🇵🇸🇵🇸🇵🇸

American police deployed snipers near the student encampment in solidarity for Gaza at Ohio State University, and police violently attacked the protest, arresting several students (Media 1-3).
At Emory University in Georgia, police violently arrested a number of faculty protestors, including an economics professor and the chair of the philosophy departmen (Media 4 and 5), and they tased an on-site media (Media 8). They shot rubber bullets and tear gas (Media 6 and 7).
It should be noted that these tactics of repression and violence are exchanged between US police departments and the IOF in occupied Palestine, with at least 69 cop cities having been built since 2020 to teach IOF tactics, using IOF trainers.
Students are undeterred, having set up a number of new liberated zones and refusing to back down (FIT, IU-Bloomington, UCLA, UT Arlington, Cornell, UH, UPenn, PSU, Stanford, and more) bringing the number of ongoing encampments to at least 50.
