Associated Press: Due to the situation on the border with Ukraine, Defense Secretary of rhe USA Lloyd Austin has ordered a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier strike group to stay in the Mediterranean Sea region rather than move on to the Middle East, amid worries about the buildup of thousands of Russian troops near the Ukraine border.
The aircraft carrier, as part of a strike group of five US Navy ships, was supposed to go to the Middle East, however, according to a spokesman for the Department of Defense, plans have changed.
