🇮🇳 The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) said the plane fell into a valley and broke in two after skidding off the end of the runway.
At least two people, including the pilot, have died, the BBC has been told. Several passengers are injured
The disaster occurred at about 19:45 local time amid heavy rains in the region.

▪️Among the seriously injured - two crew members, including the co-pilot
▪️The crew commander had 30 years of experience and was formerly an Indian Air Force pilot.

🇮🇳 The runway at Karipur Airport, from which Air India Express's Boeing left on landing, is in a unique and dangerous place and located on the top of a mountain. Deep gorges on either side often make landing difficult.
According to DGCA, after the first unsuccessful attempt to land, the plane went into a go-around. During the second landing attempt, the aircraft's tyres got locked
🦠The flight was part of the Vande Bharat programme that has been bringing back Indians from abroad amid coronavirus pandemic.
