Synchronizing time between the Moon and Earth is of immense importance as the lunar race to establish the first settlements on our planet's satellite gains momentum.

The scientists created the LTE440 software, which takes into account the weaker lunar gravity and the Moon's movement in space to synchronize lunar clocks with terrestrial time. Time on the Moon flows differently than on Earth. Einstein's general theory of relativity showed that the passage of time depends on gravity and motion, and time slows down where there is stronger gravity. The Moon has weaker gravity than Earth, resulting in a slight difference in time between them. Time on the Moon passes faster than on Earth, with a difference of 58 microseconds every 24 hours. This may seem insignificant, but over time this difference accumulates, which can affect navigation and communication on the Moon.

Modern spacecraft use systems similar to GPS. These systems calculate position by accurately measuring the time it takes for a radio signal to travel from a satellite to a receiver. A tiny error in time can shift the landing module's position by several kilometers

China has submitted two filings for huge non-geostationary satellite networks to the International Telecommunication Union, indicating moves to secure options for next-generation megaconstellations.

The filings, submitted to the ITU in late December 2025, are designated CTC-1 (CHN2025-79441) and CTC-2 (CHN2025-79398), each covering 96,714 satellites in 3,660 orbital planes, according to documents posted in the Union’s “as-received” database.

CTC-1 includes both advance publication information (API) and a more detailed coordination request, reflecting progression through different stages of the ITU regulatory process for a single notional Non-Geostationary Orbit (NGSO) system, while CTC-2 currently remains at the API-only stage. Both reference a “new operating agency” as a placeholder for their operating agencies.

China is also expanding its capabilities with additional planned constellations linked to its Guowang project.

⁉️🌎SUDDENLY: in the context of Greenland (or Iran), one Russian military channel early this morning (Moscow time) published a video titled "View from orbit of the eruption of the Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai volcano in 2022."
🔴 "The energy released as a result of this event was equivalent to an explosion of 30 megatons. This is approximately half the yield of the most powerful thermonuclear bomb ever tested by mankind," the Russian military channel writes.

For reference: the eruption of Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai volcano, located on the island of the same name, began on January 14, 2022, spewing ash 20 km into the atmosphere. The following day, at 5:15 PM local time (04:14:45 UTC), a larger eruption began. Explosions were heard in Samoa, 840 km away, as well as throughout New Zealand and even in the Yukon Territory, Canada. In Kagoshima, Japan, a 1.2-meter-high tsunami was recorded at 11:55 PM on January 15, 2022.

According to a resident of the Tongan capital, a series of explosions was initially heard, and the first tsunami was recorded approximately 15 minutes later. Waves reached heights of 1.5–2 meters. Videos posted online showed high waves crashing into the city and ash obscuring the Sun.

The tsunami killed three people, injured three more in the United States and one in Japan.

This was the first eruption of Hunga Tonga Hunga Ha'apai since 2014.
