⏺The cause of the explosion is unclear, but the vessel had previously called at Russian ports, including Ust-Luga and Novorossiysk, to load Kazakh oil.

➡️ Reuters reports that the Marshall Islands-flagged tanker Vilamoura had left Libya's Zuetina port and was en route to Gibraltar when there was an explosion in the engine room.

🔴 This is the fifth tanker of the Russian "shadow fleet" to be damaged after visiting Russian ports since the beginning of the year:

🇲🇹 Seajewel (flag of Malta).
At the time of the explosion, it was anchored off the port of Savona in northern Italy. On February 14, the explosion caused a one-meter hole in the hull below the waterline. A second explosion occurred 20 minutes later. The Seajewel tanker is part of the Russian "shadow fleet".

🇲🇭 Seacharm (flag of the Marshall Islands).
It was damaged by an explosion at the end of January off the Turkish port of Ceyhan. Both tankers, Seajewel and Seacharm, are managed by the Athens-based company Thenamaris. Some of its other vessels were previously included in the US SDN sanctions list also due to their involvement in the "shadow fleet".

🇱🇷 Grace Ferrum (flag of Liberia).
Owned by the Liberian Grace Ferrum Shipping. It was damaged in the port of Tripoli (Libya) in February.

🇦🇬 Koala (Antigua and Barbuda flag).
