These people are over, now there will be a voluntary-compulsory step with the bait of an alleged increase in salary. Calls to join the army mean that open mobilization is not far off.

По словам Цзян Гуанчжи, секретаря партийной группы и директора Пекинского бюро экономики и информационных технологий, индустрия искусственного интеллекта набирает обороты, и на данный момент для публики выпущено более 80 крупных моделей.

Если сравнивать с Западом: имеем OpenAI, Google AI, Deepmind, Anthropic, Meta AI, AI21 Labs, Microsoft и NVIDIA AI. (xAI Илона пока что не берем во внимание, запущен проект аж в июле 2023) Реально известных общественности из них только два, ChatGPT из OpenAI, и гугловский Bard. Что касается Bing AI от Microsoft, пока что в основном все что он делает это кринжует в новостях и поисковой выдаче))

Судя по открытой информации в медиа, и открытым тестам ChatGPT (включая последние),все эти западные модели ИИ в данный момент годятся только для ограниченного круга серьезных производственных или коммерческих задач, кроме, возможно, отдельных случаев. Еще одна беда АИ моделей в том, что обучаясь на неверных данных, они потом выдают неверные результаты; чем скуднее набор исходных данных тем хуже результат. То есть "сила" модели - в наборе (кол-ве) исходных данных, которые на Западе достать зачастую или трудно, или очень дорого, или нелегально. То и дело Китай, который по по объему данных обогнал США еще в 2014.
Чтобы улучшить ситуацию, вполне возможно что многие большие западные компании просто втихоря купили китайские базы данных (датасеты) и по ним уже обучение пошло веселее. Но тут есть свои нюансы - из-за цензуры данных модели могут часто выдавать "не то" - вспомним ляпы google translate, который сейчас выдает совершенно эмоционально кастрированные тексты, часто заменяя "провоцирующие" термины нейтральными; вполне очевидно что разработчики не могли чисто физически переписать весь массив кода.
Красивое решение ввели Adobe - они тупо сменили условия использования своего клауда, чтобы сделать все данные пользователей доступными для обучения их ИИ 😄

Пока что все складывается не очень хорошо для западных моделей АИ; через полгода в Китае пойдет каскадный эффект по улучшению ИИ уже существующих производственных технологий, медицины, образования, итд. И конечно же, оптимизированный поиск диссидентов в сети и усиленное продвижение социальных рейтингов, по типу уже существующих приложений, предупреждающих что в радиусе Х метров появился человек с низким социальным рейтингом, чтобы его(ее) избегали как чумы. Прекрасный новый мир!....

There're so many AI large-scale models in China that this is bringing up ferocious competition; China Business Daily calls it the "Hundred Models War". Since March this year, large Chinese AI models have sprung up like mushrooms after rain.

👁‍🗨 Baidu became the first company in China to release a general-purpose AI model. In March of this year, Wenxinyiyan, Baidu's generative AI product, was officially invited to test.
👁‍🗨 In April this year, Alibaba launched a large language model Tongyi Qianwen.
👁‍🗨 In May of this year, Zhou Hongyi, the founder of 360 Group, released the large-scale model product 360 Smart Brain. (Their 360 browser gained huge market share when it was released in 2014 by embedding Ad Filter (AdBlock) right into the browser + adding a surprisingly great, quality blocking of malicious pop-ups and phishing sites)
👁‍🗨 In June of this year, Tencent announced the progress of the research and development of large-scale industry models of Tencent Cloud.
👁‍🗨 In July this year, HUAWEI CLOUD released the Pangea Large Model 3.0. (There is a possibility that this particular model will be the most famous in the West)

According to Jiang Guangzhi, secretary of the party group and director of the Beijing Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, the artificial intelligence industry is gaining momentum, and more than 80 large models have been released to the public so far.

Comparing it to the West: OpenAI, Google AI (), Deepmind, Anthropic, Meta AI, AI21 Labs, Microsoft, and NVIDIA AI. (xAI project of Elon Musk is not taken into account yet, the project was launched very late, only in July 2023)
Only two of these models are really known to the public, ChatGPT from OpenAI, and Google's Bard. As for Microsoft's Bing AI, for now, basically all it does is buzz in the news and search results.

Judging from public information in the media, and public ChatGPT tests (including the latter version), all these models are suitable for a very narrow serious production or commercial tasks, except for, probably, a few special cases. Another trouble with AI models is that they give wrong results when fed wrong data; the poorer the set of initial data, the worse the result. With that said, the "strength" of the model lies in the amount of initial data, which in the West is either difficult, expensive, or illegal to obtain. Every now and then China, which overtook the United States in terms of data volume back in 2014.
To improve the situation, it is quite possible that many large companies simply bought Chinese databases on the sly and learning from them has become more quick. But there are some nuances here - due to data censorship, models often give out "wrong" results - remember the mistakes of google translate, which now produces completely emotionally bland texts, often replacing "provocative" terms with neutral ones; it is quite obvious that the developers could not physically rewrite the entire array of code.
Adobe introduced a beautiful solution - they plainly changed the terms of use of their Creative Cloud, to make it possible to train their AI with user data 😄

So far, things are not going well for Western AI models; six months later, a cascade effect will begin in China to improve already produced technologies, medicine, education, etc. And of course, an optimized search for dissidents on the network and increased promotion of social ratings, like existing applications that warn when a person with a low social rating appears within a radius of X meters, so that he (she) is avoided like plague. Lovely new world!....

American intelligence officials believe the malware could give China the power to disrupt U.S. military operations in the event of a conflict, including if Beijing moves against Taiwan in coming years. The Chinese code, the officials say, appears directed at ordinary utilities that often serve both civilian populations and nearby military bases.

The Chinese government has  placed many monitoring devices, including buoys, in the Arctic region. Official aim is environmental monitoring, but China’s research also involved extensive oceanographic surveys and acoustic modelling that could help Chinese naval activities.

In 2018, the Polar Research Institute of China tried to buy an airport in Lapland, Finland. The deal was reportedly killed by the Finnish government under pressure from the US.
