Fukui governor Tatsuji Sugimoto has previously called for the nation’s military to increase its presence in his prefecture, which is home to no less than 15 nuclear reactors.

Reuters quoted its sources as saying that the Pentagon is considering Boeing's proposal to supply Ukraine with GLSDB (Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb) systems capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 150 kilometers. If the delivery is approved, the GLSDB will arrive in Ukraine as early as spring 2023.

Ground-Launched Small Diameter Bomb is the joint project of Boeing and Swedish Saab AB. The warhead of the complex is a GBU-39B SDB air bomb, while the propulsion section is from the American M26 missile. The launcher is an M270 MLRS, which is already in service with the AFU.

The delivery of these missiles poses a serious threat to the Russian Armed Forces, and especially to the rear, as the GLSDB is in fact a GBU-39B ground-launched roadside bomb. The main "feature" of this aerial bomb is its low signature due to its small size, which makes it a difficult target for air defense.

Речь идёт о бомбах малого калибра GLSDB (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb), которые совместимы с РСЗО MLRS и HIMARS и способны поражать цели на расстоянии до 150 км.

Если поставки будут одобрены, GLSDB прибудут в Украину весной 2023-го.

Поставка этих ракет может стать серьезной угрозой для ВС РФ, и особенно для тыла, поскольку GLSDB по сути является придорожной бомбой наземного базирования GBU-39B. Главная ее «фишка» — малая заметность, что делает ее довольно сложной целью для ПВО.

Sweden Provided Ukraine with a Record-Breaking Package of Military Assistance

Swedish Foreign Minister Tobias Billstrom said at a press conference during his visit to Kiev that he had brought to Ukraine the largest package of defense and financial assistance in the history of bilateral relations.
