Основная мечта Макея был президентский пост.
Макей был мастером интриг, нет сомнений что Тихановская его личный проект. Лукашенко восхищался и одновременно боялся Макея. Но последний обеспечивал противовес силовикам и демонстрировал приверженность суверенности страны. Макей был самым талантливым, хитрым и опасным политиком.

Как-то неожиданно умер министр Макей. Маленький лукашенковский Маккиавелли, мастер интриг и главный переговорщик с Западом. Ничем не болел, еще вчера беседовал с посланником папы Римского, строил планы.

И столько странных совпадений. Именно сейчас Путин готовит план по замене Лукашенко. Об этом говорят мои источники в Кремле. А институт RLI написал, что Путин хочет ликвидировать Лукашенко, чтобы контролировать армию Беларуси. Близкие к Кремлю тг-каналы намекали, что Россия стремится объединить две армии под своим командованием, но это лишит Лукашенко возможности управлять странной и тот сопротивляется.

Смерть Макея очень на руку Путину. Эта потеря ослабляет Лукашенко, у которого еще и сильно подкосилось здоровье. Убрать его с поста президента станет проще. Кстати, Макей буквально на днях вернулся из Еревана, куда летал с Лукашенко и секретарем беларуского Совбеза Александром Вольфовичем на заседание ОДКБ. Там он виделся и с генсеком ОДКБ Станиславом Засем. Обоих – Зася и Вольфовича – Москва рассматривает в качестве основных претендентов на замену Лукашенко. А вот Макей мог оказаться препятствием в этом плане кремлевских стратегов.

Вчера Лавров встречался с председателем совета Беларуси Натальей Кочановой. По неофициальной информации, Лавров должен был 28 ноября увидеться с Макеем. Российские спецслужбы, как известно, не новички в организации внезапных кончин. Если угадывают с дозировкой.

By the way, just the other day Makei returned from Yerevan, where he flew with Lukashenko and the secretary of the Belarusian Security Council Alexander Volfovich to the CSTO meeting. He also met there with the CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas.
Moscow considers both Zas and Volfovich as the main contenders to replace Lukashenko. Makei could be an obstacle in this regard for the Kremlin strategists.

Russian special services, as you know, are no newbies to organizing sudden deaths using 'Novichok'* - well, in those cases where they manage to guess the dosage.

🇧🇾 With the advent of Vladimir Makei to the post of Foreign Minister in 2012, a thaw began in relations between Minsk and the West. Despite the fact that Makei himself was under sanctions and banned from entering the EU at that time, Brussels expressed readiness to work with him. Europoliticians saw in Makei a person with whom they can discuss the problems existing in #Belarus.

Gradually, step by step, meeting after meeting, Makei established contacts and unfroze relations between Minsk and Western countries. He was able to ensure that the EU lifted most of the sanctions previously imposed against Belarus in exchange for the release of political prisoners and the adoption of decisions that formally testified to a decrease in authoritarian pressure in the country.

Thanks to Makei's efforts, the doors in the West opened again for Lukashenko, and the Belarusian economy began to unfold and diversify again

Makei was one of the few Belarusian functionaries who didn't hide his family.

🇪🇺 In 2013, Makei said that "Minsk can make a 180-degree turn and begin integration with the #EU."
However, after 8 years, he was already actively supporting deeper integration with Russia.

❗️🇺🇸🇪🇺🇷🇺🇨🇳 In 2016, at a meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the OSCE countries in Hamburg, Makei invited representatives of Western countries, #Russia and #China to meet in Minsk "for a frank conversation about the causes of the crisis in international relations", expressing concern that "alienation between the West and Russia is growing, and the prospect of a new cold war is becoming ever clearer."

In summer of 2020, a couple of months before the elections, when Lukashenka fired most of the government, Makei managed to keep his position.
Makei said that the country needs change, but not by way of revolution. At the same time, he admitted that due to the harsh suppression of protests, Belarus was thrown back "many years ago in its development."

However, soon Makei was forced to change his rhetoric and accused the West of trying to implement the “Ukrainian scenario” in Belarus.
Recently, he contacted mainly with colleagues from Russia and from several CSTO countries.

The life and death of Makei is a vivid example of how the West spit on danger warnings, abandoning those who seek help in the most difficult times. Just like happened the other day in Syria with the Kurds.

👉 «Украинцам нужны системы, которые Запад не предоставил и вряд ли предоставит: ракеты ATACMS класса «земля-земля» большой дальности, которые могут поразить Россию и Крым; западные истребители; западные танки; и гораздо более совершенная противовоздушная оборона», — считает Марк Ф. Канчиан, стратег по вооружениям Белого дома.

По мнению Канчиана, в плане необходимого количества снарядов #США не будут готовы к подобным войнам еще как минимум 4-5 лет🤷🏻

#Russia and #Ukraine burn through weaponry and ammunition at a pace not seen since World War II, and "even he mighty United States has only limited stocks of the weapons the Ukrainians want and need because Washington is unwilling to divert weapons from key regions like #Taiwan and #Korea."
